Mike thanks for the input on the W-D 40 Dry Lube. I will secure some and use it on my machine tool machined surfaces. The mill, shear, brake drill press tables and columns all can use help. If HQ works for you, use it. Your reluctance to implement indicates uncertainity. If it were my decision i might use Navy Terms, Bridge, CIC ( COMBAT INFORMATION CENTER), Power Shop, Boiler Room, Engine Room, Power Distribution Center for examples. A shipmate from the 60's called me yesterday. Had no idea his call would create these thoughts today. My wife told me this morning as we age our mantrs is: " I never thought I would think the thoughts that I think today when was living life yesterday" I gotta tutn that mantra into a song! Thank you for presenting a slice of your life.

Hello Mike, I have a WD-40 story I thought you would like. An old boss I had raised show horses. They would occasionally get caught by a fence or gate latch and get cut. The wound would heal, but the hair would grow in a different color through the scar. One day, a horse got cut by an open gate that was sticking. So he was there with WD-40 spraying the latch and hinge to free it up. The horse was curious as to what he was doing and nosing around while he was spraying the hinge. So he thought a little squirt of WD-40 on the wound would scare him away to leave him alone. Didn't work, but afterward when the wound healed, he noticed the hair was the same color as the surrounding hair. Tested it again on the next injury with the same results. So he sprays all wounds with WD-40 now to keep the show horses showing without scars to take away from their looks. Go Figure?

I've heard that WD-40's base ingredient is fish oil. Maybe that's why people find it has healing properties.

Mike……this is why I moved to Arizona. When I worked for an oil company I went to work at 4 AM every day. It took 20 mins to get to work. It started to snow at 4 AM and by 8 AM there was 10” on snow on the ground. No one but me got in that day. It took me 2 hours to get home. Cars stranded in the middle of the road and no roads plowed yet???? Same thing the exact same scenario the next week. That made my decision to move. Never even thought about moving back. I had a driveway 140 ft. Long. Much too long to shovel by had. At the street it was a narrow street with parking on both sides. What a job just to get to work in the morning. If I EVER want to drive in snow again I can just drive up to Flagstaff, have fun then drive back to Mesa AZ?

Mike, for your "snow blade" take a section of 1 1/2 " PVC pipe, cut a slit in it and attach it to the bottomof your blade across the whole bottom and it will not pick up gravel when it is not frozen. I did that on my JD Gator and it works perfectly, you might also try that on your plow blade. Try to qwork with warm PVC pipe when puting it on the blade, it is more flexible that way.

Mike, I just wanted to give you a weather report from us folks in North TX. This time of year the weather is very volatile. This morning started in the mid-60s. The wife went for her morning constitutional. It was 64 degrees. By the time she had returned to the house, it was in the mid-40s. The temps had dropped around 20 degrees in 30 minutes. The winds are out of the north at 15 - 35. So, we are getting our 1st taste of winter. We called these Blue Northers. So, I'm fixing-to ( TX talk) make some homemade chili. Seems like good weather for it. I wanted to wish you a blessed New Year as well. BTW, I've got a RU as well. It's 2018 with a little over 20K. We old folks don't drive much as everything is close. Also, I wanted to thank you for all the great videos. They make my day. Health issues keep me from doing as much as I would like. So, thanks again.

Mike i went with my parents to my dad's sisters house to visit one time when I was about 25 and had been working hard for about 10 yrs already and my joints were hurting a lot every night. Well my aunt had a can of WD-40 sitting beside her chair on her end table and she picked it up and sprayed some on her hands and rubbed some into her elbows. My dad looked at me and said don't get any ideas. I said I'm not but does it work. She said it sure does. Pretty quick to.. I never did try it because dad said it goes into your blood stream and who knows what it doing to her system but she was 90 so you couldn't tell her anything all she cared was it stopped her pain . But then I used 16 ibuprofen a day. 4 every 6 hrs for the pain I was in. By the time I was 50 I had right knee replacement and right shoulder replaced twice then left knee replaced 8 yrs later and the left shoulder needs replaced but right one didn't work so not messing with it but it's painful. So maybe I should have use the lubricant who knows.

You really need a snow pusher to save your driveway. I have an Express Steel XP30 84” now but when I owned my B2650 I had their XP24 60” and the adjustable skid shoes and the adjustable rubber cutting edge were key. The rubber cutting edge swipes surfaces clean even if uneven but doesn’t dig into the stones too bad when not frozen, When frozen ground, man it just leaves a nice clean surface and doesn’t spill over the sides to require second passes to clean up those little wind rows. I see they bother you as much as they do me haha. I got mine both with the welded on back drag as well which also has the same thick rubber cutting edge. I can clean right up to the garage doors back dragging and then push perpendicular to clean everything up. Up here in Northern Vermont we get a lot of snow and I will never use anything else. I haven’t used chains but my R14’s are starting to to show some wear so I made have to add those before the next bid wet storm. You won’t regret it … I promise you. Love your channel,

I'm a big fan of dry lubes and silicone-based lubes. Silicone lubes can also be effective high temperature lubes. If you're shoveling snow, wipe your shovel down with a dry silicone lube. Amazing how much it helps keep the shovel clean. Clean the door gaskets on your vehicles. Then wipe them down with dry silicone. Almost completely stops ice build-up and sticking in the winter. Don't get me wrong, I have every size and shape can of lube, protectant and rust inhibitor/penetrant known to man. But...When I'm working around plastics, rubber or areas I don't want all gooped up, I turn to silicone and dry lubes. Silicone grease, dielectric and food grade, are also excellent lubes.

WD-40 is interesting. It’s also changed formula so it’s not the same thing anymore. It used to have a lot of seed oil in it in the military used it to preserve wood on guns and rifles and other things to waterproof and clean and lubricate. It was kind of the original CLP. I remember my dad and grandfather telling me that it was great especially on wood because the linseed oil would soak in and then dry up so it wasn’t greasy to the touch and you can use it to spray and clean machinery and Gun stuff out and it would still lube but not leave a bunch of thick grease in there to soak up even more dirt as bad as other oils, but I don’t know how it works today because they’ve changed what’s in it a couple of times.

Big Mike .... Love seeing you use that back blade. I've got an old Ford back blade,,, that's how I do our road system.. I spin it 180 degrees and use it like a dozer for banks... That back blade can do a million jobs once you learn the tricks to setting it up... On to WD 40... You don't fish much but spray a lure with it, and you catch fish! I used to spray the complete underside of my truck with it.. no rust for many years... A gallon is fairly cheep compared to fluid film which people use... love it for guns to... air tools... plastic like your wheeler... One more thing, hydraulic cylinder on your rear blade and remote hydraulics on the rear of the tractor.... You will find it makes that rear blade alot easily to use... Great Video!!

The 4 wheeler is in my heated garage and if I don’t spray WD-40 on the plow the snow sticks to the plow as it is warm and will collect snow and freeze onto the plow until the plow cools down to the outside temp. Looking forward to the cabin visit. You will have some serious snow to move there if the forecast plays out.

You could probably use your leaf blower attachment on your tractor to blow the snow off your driveway.

Good morning a Mike. I use my blade the same way (back blading) but I rotate it 180 degrees so I plow forward. Just a note.

Mike, I appreciate your taking time to look at the house even though your not an inspector. You have experience that matters. As for house prices. 😮 I wish we could buy a house for that. Both of our kids bought starter homes in the last 2 years. Prices cooled because of interest rates and they had savings to take advantage. But both were over $500k for starter homes that needed lots of updates. It is the time we are in. (We are on the Left Coast) but we are Right politically.

I spin my back blade all the way around and then pull the snow all over our drive and trails. Works great,

Aero-Kroil is my go to for those really stubborn fasteners, we used it on the airplanes when I was a mechanic for a local commuter airline back in mid 90's. If you can find some, try it works great for penetrating and loosening stubborn nuts and bolts. They also have one with graphite, that one keeps all of my lock cylinders working smoothly throughout these cold nasty months.

Good morning Mike and family. You know how forecasts work, so as long as you're ready for snow , it misses you

Yup, here in Michigan forecasts are a joke. The great lakes make it hard to predict anything!!
