The best way to stabilize the Outer Rim has to come from within. Within the Rim itself. If the Republic focused more in helping the locals stabilize the region themselves rather than for their own sake/profit, there would be less issues. It’s not a Fix-All solution but it’s the best choice considering everything else hasn’t worked out.

It is the only place where things happen in most of the movies. 4-6 only outer rim. 7 and 8. All of Solo and R1. Outer rim only. Half of the prequels are outer rim. The only time it isn't is Corosaunt and naboo. I wanted to see Alderan before it was destroyed. Mid rim stuff. Other core worlds. The outer rim has been the focus of star wars the entire time

As a Chicago resident I feel like it would be far more akin to a planet in the Core or Colonies. It has a vibrant culture of music and art but it’s also a corrupt, self-interested, ineffectual bureaucracy drawing much of its resources from the outside - and harnessing power through an equally corrupt police force.

Good ole outer rim. All the good stuff seems to happen there, and great characters have risen from it. Whatever government in power had no real need to fully conquer it. Just take the important resources and import back to the core worlds. Reminds me of the old PC game star wars Rebellion. Played that game for hours upon end.... actually doing the same thing, taking the core worlds and using the outer rim for resources. :D

Marine Pixel False. The sneak attack by the Seps on Corruscant to capture Palpatine, was a disaster. Palpatine orchestrated it, had a secret fleet that came in and pounded the Seps. It cost them a significant portion of their fleet. It was downhill from there.

Galactic core being the most wealthiest and civilized region in galaxy is part of the "Star Wars" lore that requires a lot of suspention of disbelief. Real life galactic cores can't be naturally habitable for life forms resembling humans. The star density is very high, making the gamma radiation too intense for complex living organisms. Also at the very center there is a massive blackhole. The outer regions of the galaxy also can't have life which evolved naturally, since interstellar material such as gasses and chemicals needed for complex life to exist are dispersed with lesser density and can't form habitable worlds. Only the middle section between the galaxy's center and it's edge has the right conditions for life as we know it to emerge and evolve.
