Imagine being, idk, Hornfels, tracking their flight. You watch their ship explode on the Interloper, and watch as they fly into Timber Hearth. You watch them nail an impossible landing, 1000000 to 1 odds without so much as a scratch, before they walk down to the launch site to eat some juicy mallows. You go out to congratulate them on their amazing feat... Only to find them splattered under the elevator.

What we've learned: 1. The reactor is INSIDE the ship 2. Aero-brakeing (entering a planet's atmosphere to slow down via drag) is HUGE (and I'm pretty sure it's in the game) 3. Carthinogens aren't good for healing 4. Look up (But for real, incredibly impressive and hilarious)

"Aero-braking" is such a cool name for it. I never use auto pilot and soooo often overshoot, so I learned to just aim close and it'll save you from overshooting. Scary but sooo fun

Amazing clip, love the plan to survive. Hilarious ending. That elevator moves so fast I didn't even have time to register what was going to happen before it did. Edit: I keep coming back to this clip because I love it. I had a thought, that's some pro jetpacking there - using the atmosphere to slow down is called aerobraking and is literally how all real spacecraft return to Earth, and the Apollo capsules even deliberately skipped out of the atmosphere and gained altitude again before coming back in, just like you did. Might be a little late to say now but the reactor is inside the ship behind the gravity crystal if you need to fix it btw haha.

outer wilds calculates fall damage perpendicularly, so if you land on a 45 degree angle you take half damage. so you can be going twice the speed of sound but if you're parallel to the surface you won't take damage
