They didn’t say at the end of the game there is a “big dual choice” like you seem to think. They said there are two sides to the main quest. If it’s like FONV, which they also made, your final choice won’t just be some last minute decision you make at the end of the game, but rather you make smaller decisions throughout the game and you slowly lock yourself in to one side or the other

Fallout 4 has 2 playtimes, the main storyline and the entire game. The main storyline has a playtime of around 15-30 hours. Total playtime is 400 hours.

I would rather have a short really good game then a really long bad one. Though a really long really good game would be great. But we don't see many of those. The first Fallout was a short a game. You could complete it in about 30 hours or so. But it was also a really great RPG and it had the least amount of bugs. People who played it describe it as short and sweet.

@Chuck Nourrizzz this. I feel like a lot of people are overlooking quality of quantity. We should be encouraging games that have rich content rather than 200+ hours of filler. I mean look as assassins creed for example, how many of those side quests are actually interesting? Budget plays a big role too, so it's important to consider what are the priorities. I'd much rather have a game that has a rich story and gameplay, and this could be the first step into the type of RPGs that fallout fans have been wanting for a long time.

One of the best games I've ever played, Dishonored, can be feasably be completed in less than ten hours by even an average player. However, it offers so many MEANINGFUL choices that to play through just once is denying yourself the full experience. I suspect The Outer Worlds is a similar case, where playing a different character can make it feel like a completely foreign experience. I'm excited as hell.

Thank you for more outer worlds. I can't get enough. I am totally stoked to play! Total Fallout geek since 1998. Still waiting on the next great Fallout game since New Vegas and after a mediocre Fallout 4 and a complete miss with 76, I have serious doubts about the future of BGS entirely. Obsidian, on the other hand, employs many of the brilliant creators of my beloved early Fallout games as well as New Vegas. So, whodathunkit? The next great Fallout game actually has a new name, new IP, new studio and got shot into space! I see nearly limitless opportunity for expansion here as a new DLC could be a new moon, planet or an entire new solar system that once installed it's game on in an entirely new world space, just locate and obtain your landing clearance and head out. It seems to be designed with that kind of modular expansion in mind. I love that. Chomping at the bit to play. I just hope we don't crash Steam or even the entire internet by all buying this exceptional new title all at once. lol I also hope this title is a gigantic earner for Obsidian that allows them the kind of FU money to expand how they want, where and when they want and give us a nice long string of DLC's and subsequent entries into an ever growing and expanding universe and franchise. I haven't even played it yet and I already want more just from what I've seen here and other videos. Adventure on, friends!

40 hours seems like a great game length to me. It'll let you replay it multiple times for the different endings and they can put much more thought into the quests, less buggy, etc.

these aren't really the type of games to have amazing gameplay, I think of new vegas and a lot of the fun comes from the story, the gameplay and gunplay being a bit bland and nothing spectacular but it doesn't really need to be, it's hard to market and advertise this

I'm really excited for this game. Obsidian hasn't let me down yet, even though Pillars of Eternity wasn't exactly my style of game, the fact that it was critically loved and teh fact that Obsidian is the type of developer that would make an old school RPG like that tells me everything. New Vegas is also my favorite Fallout game ever made, yes including 1 and 2. I'm really hoping this is good.

I like the fact that it will be a short game. Most of the “great triple A RPG games” are really amazing but too long. Me, as a gamer with a lot of responsibilities, I can’t replay most of those games, like The Witcher 3, Skyrim or Mass Effect. This one, I’ll finally have a chance to create different characters.

I've had more of a yo-yo effect, first excited, then not, then excited again. The way I see it, this is exactly the rpg I wanted fallout 4 to be like. I'm a bit curious though what exactly is making you less interested? To me , this seems like a game focused on the rpg mechanics i wish to see more. I love some of the concepts here for weapons and narrative options. No microtransactions, or various editions of the game, and an honest developer, who were behind the beloved new Vegas. While it may not be mind blowing in graphics, I like the style and overall presentation. Seems like they were focusing on making a tighter rpg rather than filler content.

Finally some developer that is doing exactly what developers are supposed to do, making their game and releasing it, no bulls*** attached. I don't mind them doing DLC, as long as it is not blatantly obvious that it got cut out of the game. That is fine. Also it is nice to see they already aren't planning for sequel, which obviously means game will have solid ending and not some open ended ending expecting sequel that might never come, if game is not successful, which in itself hurts chances of game actually being successful. Though it is bit weird seeing Take Two isn't asking for microtransactions, considering publisher is one of their subsidiaries. But then again, Microsoft did acquire Obsidian, so they probably don't care that badly about it. Though they do have publishing rights, MS could prove to be bit too big to go against.

May be a small nit pick, but can you turn the bright white number cards/transitions to a gray or maybe reverse colors. It's extremely harsh (for us night time/bedtime) viewers. Just throwing that out there. None the less, love the videos keep em coming.

As a trophy collector I like that it's 15-40 hours. I'm still working on the reach level 50 and defeat a legendary dragon trophies in Skyrim :P
