Based on your medical skill you can add 1-3 consumables that will automatically be consumed when you use your inhaler. If a stack of consumables you chose have none left it will automatically change to a different comsumable of the same type. So I am currrently with high medical skill always using 3 consumables when I use the inhaler. So I always use inhaler when combat starts even if I have not taken any damage yet just to get those consumable bonuses. That is an ingenious system which makes using them very fluent and you don't even have to open your inventory and shuffle through the list of consumables to use them, just press F and all chosen consumables are used. I once in a while mark all types of them I do not want as junk and sell them for good profit.

Kind of dissapointed in this game .....and this review tbh. I usually hold SkillUp as the crown jewel of my reviewers but I'm sorry this game is ..... below average in every category? I seriously don't understand all the love other than the wonderfully crafted corperate greed story and some interesting dialogue choices (that don't seem to matter much? ) The graphics are advertised as amazing but i find them underwhelming and very last gen-ish. The combat is meh , the art design is quirky but kind of dumb looking at the same time. The enemy's are copy paste mehhhhh. Customization is meh. UI is meh. Your map is meh. Your spaceship is meh. There is literally lazy detail in every nook and cranny of this game. Your companions are annoying AF except for Max. I didn't even want them with me most of the time it was like hanging out with annoying millenials. It's a SPACE game where you don't even fly your ship or really do anything in space. Pretty much everything about this game is pretty meh. I dunno I don't get it.... 6/10 and thats generous only because of the interesting dialogue choices.This game would be a 6/10 on a xbox 360-PS3 (and that's what it looks like the systems it was made on) ...Massively dissapointed considering the good reviews. I don't understand how you can bash Assasins Creed games but GUSH over Outer Worlds....Its just simply not that good and one of the most overrated games I've ever come across
@user-gm4kv2my4u3 жыл бұрын
You say it's a "space game" as if that some how means you're obligated to do stuff in space. Your ship serving as a central hub rather than a game play element us far from unheard of. This game taking its ques from episodic shows like Startrek, Firefly, or hell, One Piece. The adventure is not found on the ship. It's found on the worlds you use the ship to visit. If you want to spend time in space you can play Elite Dangerous. You'll get your fill.
@commoncents68313 жыл бұрын
@@user-gm4kv2my4u So you read my entire rant/review and pick out 1 short sentence in it were you can make a counter argument? The game is average at best in every way and I play games based upon my trusted reviewers. Skill Up, 21 kiloton and Angry Joe is one of my most trusted reviewers and i feel like they gave this game wayyy too much love. And I have played Elite Dangerous and yes it is ALOT of space Lol......I feel like everyone should play that game just to sort of wrap your head around the incredible vastness of our milky way galaxy
@user-gm4kv2my4u3 жыл бұрын
@@commoncents6831 @Common Cents the rest of your comment is declarative statements based solely in opinion. How am I supposed to reply to "the game is overrated" or "the ship/UI/Enemies, ect are meh...?" It's actually amazing you could write a comment so long and say so little. Your comment on a "space game" not taking place in space stood out because Outer worlds is not the only game to use the ship as a hub. If you played Elite Dangerous than you should understand why there is no need for that type of game play to be in Outerworlds. Unless you wanted a half assed and tedious mini game like Planet Scanning Ala Mass Effect.

Parvati left me because I blew Reed Tompson's brains all over the wall, I didn't even bother with holding a conversation with Vicar Max, I told Felix to fuck off on our first encounter, I didn't try talking to Ellie because I didn't want another side quest, I barely had money to buy Nyoka a drink so I just asked for directions, and I never explored the unreliable so I didn't know about SAM's existence until the narrator mentioned him at the end. I am truly a loner.

Man this review sadly aged poorly, its pretty clear now that the hate for modern bathesda was the only reason Outer Worlds got the hype it did but in reality the game is at most just okay. This game feels mostly forgotten and is looked back on as very mediocre. It's genuinely sad that this game is just more forgettable and middling. games like the witcher 3 will be remembered for being outstandingly good and even a game like fallout 76 will be remembered for being so outstandingly bad but the outer worlds wont be remembered much at all since it just isn't outstanding in any way

My biggest issue was with how small the planets are. Pathfinding through them was so simplistic and practically on rails. The world building and environmental storytelling is much better in Fallout games (Including FO76). Obviously, I do think OW did a fantastic job with the writing and dialogue, I look forward to seeing what this team does next with a sequel. But no, like many people hoped this was not the next Fallout New Vegas in space, not even close. I agree with you, this game was way over hyped and reviewed in a reactionary way to Bethesda’s failings as of late.

One aspect I really love playing about this game is that they do really do a lot of dialogue. I won't spoil it but there was a situation where I lied to someone then I told the truth later and they called me out on it. In every bethesda game I ever played That never happens. If I lie then suddenly start speaking the truth the Npc brushes it off, but in Obsidian they actually made situations that lying then telling the truth will at least get a response.

The game isn't phenomenal, it's just a bit above average, at least to me, but it's the message behind it all that people are taking from it. It's basically the people behind a Fallout classic stepping up and showing the world how to make a game in the wake of Bethesda going full retard.
@tannerfinney82115 жыл бұрын
John James Rambo I cant help but agree with John here, the game is highly overrated, as fun as I have with playing the game, I still can’t help but feel like it is missing a few links to the game that would make it feel ‘Perfect’, I agree with it being a good game, but it isn’t a perfect game, it’s fun, I’ve played through it for nearly 10-15 hours by now only after exploring three areas (yes, three whole areas, you will be doing a lot of back tracking), and trust me, it’ll take you way more then 10-15 hours
@tannerfinney82115 жыл бұрын
John James Rambo Oh no I totally understand, I’m going through my first play through right now and thought that maybe normal difficulty would still be rather difficult (considering it’s my first run with the game) - Come to find out it is rather easy to fight against AI if you just stick to a distance and pick them off by just headshotting them down to a certain amount of health before picking them off with either another shot from the same weapon, or to get up close to finish them off with another.. I do hear you with the ‘Unique Weapons’ that they have put in, though they are still the same gun models as to that of any other gun in the game, to say the HMG unique weapon I have looks exactly like the regular HMG that you’d find in a vending machine or on a dead body, though with a few minor tweaks to the gun to make it unique, it never felt like it was different from any of the other guns. The looting being chore is a major problem I have in this game, due to the fact that you can find damn near EVERYTHING in crates, bodies, or even just laying on the ground or on a table, their is too much loot to really be able to get a good feel for each item, health items and ammo along with bits are a major problem (especially all the health items.) Though it is a game for those who enjoy more of a dialogue driven storyline, i still can’t help but feel it does miss a lot of options that Fallout NV use to have, even though I am comparing these two as they are their own separate titles, they are easy to compare with dialogue, where as you said NV is a more serious tone, Outer worlds really does act like a more watered down NV/Bioshock, in my opinion of course. Although I enjoy it myself, it has its flaws

This is possibly the ONLY SkillUp review I do not agree with and quite strongly so. While The Outer Worlds is a competent product it's way too generic and simplified, I dare say dumbed down compared to Fallout 4 under each and every conceivable aspect and it was a massive disappointment for me. The story, the progression, the loot game, the build diversity, the weapon modding... they're all barely there, no depth whatsoever.

I interpreted "capitalism" in the game differently than most, perhaps. To my understanding, people weren't allowed to leave without the Board's say-so. Indeed (without giving any spoilers), there were some shady operations flying in the face of the non-aggression principle that is so central to a truly free-market capitalistic economy. No group that is directly prevented from leaving can reasonably be called capitalistic, IMO.
@foreverfirebird57122 жыл бұрын
There being no inherent limit to corporate power is always going to lead to corporations having the power to stomp out freedom That's the purest form of capitalism there is
@Vic2point02 жыл бұрын
@@foreverfirebird5712 The limit to corporate power is in a truly free market, which requires that the government is not able to infringe on it in any way. So long as there is government power for them to tap into, corporations will do so (e.g., a new law requiring $1mil to be spent for adhering to some government regulation won't cripple the corporations at the top but could devastate their competition).

IMPRESSIVE VIDEO! Deep and thought provoking, akin to the Outer Worlds you are reviewing. I am now a subscriber. One minor disagreement. I would say this is Corporatism (most people don’t even understand the word) and not Capitalism. Corporatism, as I am using it, is when a company uses government influence or control to diminish competition and therefore customer choice. By them granting monopolies to systems, they created this dystopian nightmare. Similarly, when corporations lobby government today to stifle their competition we get higher prices and less selection. When companies like Walmart and Amazon are fighting for customers, we get services like free grocery pickup. I look forward to more insightful videos.
