I'm using basically the same rules except I will be attempting to strictly minimize "hours indoors" to keep that value at 0.

Interesting usage of hypothermia (was it intentional? :P) to recover even more health. You're definitely in a better position than me in my first episode. Also that reddit post of mine seems a bit lengthy so here is a TLDR version: True OuterMisery (TOM): - Misery mode but only stay in places that accumulate "hours outdoors" on stats page - Anywhere that accumulates "hours indoors" is off-limits - all locations with load screen and areas with significant warmth bonus - Exceptions: - back of caves allowed to loot but not stayed in - transition caves/mines between 2 regions allowed to pass through ONLY IF there is no other purely outdoor way (e.g. can pass through HRV-MT cave but not ML-MT cave). No looting or loitering allowed in such caves/mines - "Hours indoors" can be non-zero (as you might accumulate enough indoor time at some point), but keep it as close as possible to zero.

I think it's basically impossible to check both match locations before hypothermia sets in. If I had done it intentionally I would have done it properly and gotten tired enough for the second 10-hour sleep first :D Not really thrilled with how contrived the start feels but I guess that's the consequence of trying to force a square outerloper into a round PV spawn. The only other option is to reroll starts for random matches or the three strikes flare, I guess.

@ArchimedesLP Well, that's a good point 😅 Also I'm not 100% sure but the loot at three strikes might be nerfed in Misery. I headed towards there in one of my other 5 attempts, and the amount of loot was less than what I've seen on NOGOA. And the guaranteed(?) wolf carcass was no longer there.

@@gotmilkanot Interesting. All the loot seems identical to Interloper for me in all locations, but Cel says the farmhouse loot is heavily nerfed(for example there is no can opener.) I guess it's plausible they tweaked a few nearby locations in PV and left everything else untouched.

easy - just gain down the input a touch, and gain up/add output. It was hardly noticeable, and your mic sounds great.

I think it's funny how everyone feels the same about frostbite, we just don't want to see that red stain on our health bar the rest of the game, but it doesn't really change much.

Yeah be honest how often do you run around with a full health bar (early game anyway)? lol if the trader can amputate your fingers or toes for a price of pelts. doesn't give you any health but it gets rid of the red bit.

42:47 yes affliction can appear later. In my run i got second affliction on day 8-9 it was frigit bones

I think the latest patch removed the chance for the hacksaw to spawn here. I've seen it here before on one of my own Misery runs, but just tried 25 new games and it hasn't shown up again.

Yes, it's in the patch notes. That spawn point was moved up to Skeeter's ridge, so it's no longer possible find it at Draft Dodger's in Misery or Interloper.

Hey, I know this is super late after the video is posted, I’m curious about the clothing benefits. Near the start of the video you mentioned not wasting time putting anything on aside from gloves if you had found them and you also put the thermal underwear on while not equipping any other clothing. What is the benefit of wearing those clothes that makes it worth it, while other clothing like the hockey jersey and jacket are not worth the time?

Purpose of the gloves would be to prevent frostbite. The underwear I probably made a mistake! If you're already cold, taking that extra time doesn't do anything(the damage is the same.) If I still have some warmth bar left when looting clothing, I'll usually put it on immediately. Same idea if I'm inside and warming up slowly, putting the clothing on immediately will make me warm up a bit faster.

20:00 , it's less actually If you asked to choose between three options,then you get revealed one, you need to choose the door you chosen I dont remember exact details,but it's around the same

You're thinking of the Monty Hall problem(which I had just mentioned) however that doesn't apply here. That relies on some subtle trickery: which door gets revealed is partially based on your initial choice. For the matches it's very simple: 3 locations, we've ruled out 1. The remaining locations are 50/50. (Assuming of course that everything was equally likely to begin with...)

Nice gameplay but i think if have done the hand wraps...I was hoping he would do it at that moment, i think it was much less resource in a short term.

Yeah a few big mistakes in hindsight. I definitely wish I had either crafted the handwraps or had just not remembered the frostbite risk and got it earlier on the summit route. I wasted a lot of time and fuel in that little cave.
