Bought one for a camping trip near Aspen this last weekend. It worked great. Most of the time I boiled the water on a stove, but the last time I poured cold water and let it heat the water - both times worked perfectly.

Glad you had a good experience. Yes, the positive things about Outin is the consistency of brewing water.

Hi Matteo! I didn’t even know that portable espresso makers are existing, for me this is a game changer! Now I have to gain more information on this device. Thank you for video!

Thank you for those valuable tips! I have the machine and the basket plus set. Not yet finished with dialing in. But I have the impression that it is a great machine. And for me the larger basket is a must!

Great video! One thing that they failed in, is the fact they don’t sell individual double shot baskets. They only sell the kit. I’d like to have a couple pre packed baskets rather than cleaning out the one individual basket that comes with the set. Having only one is not very convenient, efficient, or travel friendly. How about sending them a message to sell a set of two or three double baskets. I’ve already sent them a couple of emails. Maybe your influence can get them to move on it.

Thanks for the video; it was helpful. The original basket makes smooth, sweet expresso, but the Nano Plus basket only makes bitter expresso no matter what I do. Do you have any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks
@timothyhanson72242 ай бұрын
It turns out that I needed a real coffee grinder. I purchased an MHW-3BOMBER R3, which allowed me to find the correct grind for a delicious expresso.

Yeah, grinder is the most important tool in coffee. A good grinder can change everything in any brewing methods

Hi Matteo. I've been following your channel for a while now. Never was into coffee until I saw your video on the Moka Pot. Bought one, 3 cups, then another 6 cups. I saw your video on the Outin and got one and also got the Plus Basket. Thanks for the discount. I am confused about the Plus Basket making a double shot. You put 18g in and got about 36g out, about 1 1/2oz. I thought a double shot was around 2 oz. which would be around 60g. I've seen other users fill the water to max level and still only get 1 1/2oz. What am I missing. Thanks

This message makes me so happy. Glad I can be part of your coffee journey. Alright, in espresso you should always look into brewing ratio. The classic ratio is 1:2 coffee:beverage, so 18 g of coffee, 36g of liquid. Now depending on the coffee you are brewing this ratio can change. 60g is usually what coffee chains are using when they make large lattes from 12oz and above, to give more coffee taste. There is no rules in that, there is only what you like. Depending on the coffee you like. usually for dark roast a suggest short beverage, if you place 18g I usually go below 36g, medium roast 18g coffee, 38/40 beverage, light roast 18g coffee, 42 and above. This is a brewing time in between 25/35 seconds, also that depending on coffee. The importance of weighting and counting is because once you find the parameter you like, you can stick with that and achieve consistency. Always trust your taste!

What temperature water should you use if you don't want to use the heating feature?
@matteofromtheswamps5 ай бұрын
The machine start to extract at a temperature of 92 degrees. You can place boiling water inside the reservoir and then extract the coffee

Is this a pressurised or nonpressurised basket? Is there any option to get a single dose nonpressurised metal basket which would fit this portafilter?

Hi Matteo, thanks for your nice videos and good explanation. I am just a beginner starting with the outin and a scale. Just a bit confused with brew ratios. Here you add 18gr of ground coffee with ‘only’ 50ml water (if I saw correctly) whereas without the plus basket you filled with 8gr and used 70ml water in the other review video. Can you explain this a bit to me please?
@DirkvanderMeer-v6zАй бұрын
Sorry, I meant 8gr - 24,5gr and 18gr - 37gr. Ratio single: 1:3 ratio double: 1:2. Is this correct and why different, personal preference?

Perhaps you’re familiar with the Timemore grinder. I use it regularly for the standard basket, and it works perfectly. However, when I use it with the basket plus and set it to both espresso positions on the grinder, the result is a different coffee with less crema

Ive managed to get my extraction time to around 7-8 secs but I still have a very light cremer. Ill keep adjusting my grinder settings. I do sometimes get a lot of bubbles at the end of the extraction, Im not sure why that is, it seems some of the fats from the cremer are maybe stuck in the coffee grind if that makes sense? My aim is to get it looking like your perfect pull in the video.

Grind finer. Also make sure you're using coffee that has been roasted within 30 days
@TraderChords4 ай бұрын
@@adaz240 My coffee is very fresh, I did have a finer grind but it wasnt coming out of the Outin, so every day I clicked one more course on my Kingrinder. I got it to the point it started coming out, then adjusted it more until it matched the times of extraction in this video (9-10 secs). Im starting to go back finer from today, but I think the pressure may not be pushing as hard.
