RIP Frances Sternhagen (Dr. Lazarus). It was wonderful meeting you in person 35 years ago. You were an excellent actress, and a wonderful human being.

RIP Frances Sternhagen, her grouchy character was so much fun, she reminded me of a female Dr. McCoy.

YES! I spent the entire movie saying this. "Dammit, O'Niel, I'm a doctor, not a psychiatrist!"

I loved the exchange between these two. At the end scene, you could see a glimmer of respect in Sternhagen's face. She saw Connery was tough, and didn't take any shit. She felt the man might make a difference for once.

My favorite character in the movie. She also had all the best lines.

It's great the mutual respect these two roles have as the movie progresses.

I saw this movie at the theatre. Loved it then, love it now. Showed it to my boys on VHS, for God's sake. R.I.P. Both of them!

I think Sean and Frances are the same age here. Crazy to think this movie came out when I was born. Time just keeps moving forward.

She reminds me of Frances McDormand. Even has the same first name.

Totally thought the same exact thing! Never seen her before or since but, to pair her with Connery, instead of a young starlet, was SUCH a great choice! She's the best character in the film and they're so great together!

On a more sentimental note...the scene portrays two losers who decided to make a difference.

Yes! Real heroism, against the odds and EVEYONE else at the Con-Am Io operation. Love it!💕

More like, they were underestimated. They were treated as non-consequential by the people around them, and thus weren't taken seriously. A mistake the villains in this ended up sorely regretting. That's what I loved about this movie.
