I love how Marsali starts out despising Claire, but ends up thinking of her as her second mother:)

I totally agree 🥰 I like to think her biological mother would be proud of her daughter though, despite her hatred for her mentor lol.

This is my favorite scene on Marsali. "Lord have mercy!" "Deliver us from evil!" "Do not make me say it, Claire. Do not make me say it." I love it. 😂

Lauren does such a great job with her expressions. When Claire talks about using the autopsy to determine the cause of death, you can immediately see the wheels start turning in Marsali's head @ 2:30.

Her acting absolutely makes this scene. Watching her horror dissolve into curiosity and the realization that she is capable of doing the job is wonderful.

They really need to do something with Brianna. I get that they're trying to make her a female Jamie but he was never this stupid, petulant and immature. The actress has been getting some of the blame but I do think better writing could fix it. She's not unlikeable, the writing is mainly to blame.

At that time in history, the human body was still very much a mystery. Doing autopsies was a crime punishable by death if I recall correctly. It was considered evil.

Claire, placating to Marsali Christian beliefs yet she time travelled by magic rocks..🤦🏽‍♂️🤣

Claire identifies as a Christian also so it’s not that strange. Her traveling through the stones probably just began broadening her worldview.
@Curlyteacher537

@@lindaschreifels9889Claire was also raised all over the world with her uncle and was exposed to many cultures. She considers herself Catholic because that’s how she was born but when her parents died at age 5 her religious experience stopped since her uncle was more of an atheist and didn’t raise her in it. She is also a supernatural being, possibly an “old one” or type of fairy by Scottish lore, who can magically travel through time by going through stones, can see ghosts, and can sense things from objects like bones. Claire is trying to connect with Marsali and explain things in a way that would make sense to her without her thinking of it as witchcraft.

"Stitch him up...like a seamstress?" Funny because why would any one stitch up a dead person in those days!?😂Only the living needed surgery.It seemed weird😦Subtle humour!

Stitching a dead person up is about respect. Respect for the deceased person and the deceased’s family.
@lorenheard2561
@lorenheard2561 3 жыл бұрын
@@kellyolson7083 Maybe now it is... In those days,it wasn't long before your family member started stinking up the place! Especially in the Southern heat! The bible says you're to bury your dead,and soon! What about the war dead? Lots of gaping,ugly wounds.You washed and clothed the dead,and prayed for their soul,and a proper burial,and li f in ice-cold winter,and in a frozen ground place,you probably packed them sometimes in ice or a cold out building.

Not in the books! Tv writers invented this just like keeping Martagh alive when he died at Culloden. This was done by Malva Christie.

I think that the books have so many characters that is difficult to remember them all, in the series they are keeping the characters count lower so they can focus on the plot
