Jamie didn’t “cheat” on Claire! He was blackmailed into sex by Geneva Dunsany. He reluctantly gave in to the affection offered by Mary McNab while he thought Claire was gone forever. Did anyone expect him to remain completely celibate for 20 years? He was merely confessing his one night with Mary during this scene, even though he didn’t have to. It was to take any other doubts out of Claire’s mind. Toni Graphia said this was the rationale in “The Official Outlander Podcasts.”

Claire expected to come back and find Jamie married with a family. She feared that would be the case, at any rate. He was too kind and family oriented to be alone so long, she thought, and not likely to take up with whores and loose women. He was a virgin when she got him for a reason, not because he was ugly. He thought extra-marital sex immoral.

@@KentPetersonmoney No. In this barn scene, Jamie told Claire about his one encounter with Mary McNab, who lived at Lallybroch. She offered him physical affection on the night before he gave himself up to the Redcoats in Ep. 302, “Surrender.” Claire had been gone for 7 years at this point. Jamie thought he’d never see her again.

So say you, and I, and most others. But there are those out there denouncing this show because of all the adultery as well as the sexual oriented violence. Some see those lovely intimate scenes as pornography.

@@TB91178 Oh, me too. But to some level it teaches people to overcome such things and not be a victim forever. I don't need to see it to believe it though. But I don't see the intimate scenes as porn, it's done so tastefully and lovely, and I don't consider Claire marrying Jamie and Jamie marrying Leery as adultery. Nor when Jamie accepted comfort from Mary McNab. Claire was "gone", forever as far as he could see.

Yes, you could say he cheated. But to you, is cheater a will or a force? 🤔 Because, he didn't had a choice. Well, he did had a choice and that was either for him to be with the captain and Clair wont die or he didn't do what he did and Claire would die. So, theres bot much options theres. And he did what he did so she wouldn't die. So if we think about it, that ia not a will, that is a force, and that force is called a rape, not a cheat.
