I shall attempt to apply the image of Jamie's flogged back to the rear (back, of course) of my Morale Booster coffee cup merch, with blessing. First of course, is application of content to channel. The tee-shirt will look rather gruesome, I'd think.

Christ put himself thru this torture ONCE & it nearly killed him. This particular scene was round #2 for the Jamie character, & he was nearly also left for dead! You can see bones sticking out! So horribly bloody gruesome. Can't imagine Sam/Jamie subjected to this after this prison scene. But he went thru it at least 2x more.... Plus several other instances where he was badly beaten up... All to rescue or save those he loves. Kinda like, to me, Christ with his Bride/the Church! That one pic of Season 1 with Jamie holding a hand out to Claire as she slips away from Frank?? That is very much to me, a spittin metaphorical image of Christ, with his Church
