I think the most important part of the discussion in this video was when Cathy and Antoinette expressed their living experiences, their truth, that Black people in America continue to be judged and treated unjustly by white people. This meaningful discussion among friends, multi-ethnic, multi-racial friends, helps all of us learn about what folks go through. Just love all 4 of you, I always feel as if I'm sitting with you at my kitchen table. I'm drinking Constant Comment tea.

I agree. Sometimes these little gems come up in these discussions, and I always feel grateful. I love that you shared what you're drinking - a pleasure to sit at your kitchen table with you! xo

That was heartbreaking and distressing to hear.

The whole episode was choppy and missed the real passion of those events. The main actors tried hard with the limited material, but the episode was too choppy and too crammed. I did love the parts that used book dialog, it was not enough to save the work, but the “created” material just fell flat. As it usually does.

Great discussion ladies. Love listening to your observations. Some very funny, others quite eye openings. Agree that Claire’s badass medical procedures take up lots of screen time .

You ladies are a hoot!! Welcome back Cathy!! Totally agree with y’all about this episode. I just watched episode 711 and it is much better than 710. Love y’all. 💜💜💜💜

Nteresting insights- I always learn so much from you wise women.its satisfying that I had several of the same impressions, you are showing how to be discerning observers. Previously there have been no medical missteps, so I wonder if Dr Claire is no longer their medical advisor..? Now I need to go back and view for the 3rd time. Thank you.❤

I am a book reader and also love the tv series . I liked this episode except there wasn't enough jamie , although sam and steven did a great job . Claire's grief was believable and hit the heart watching it . Thank you so much for your discussion it was very interesting and enjoyable. 😊❤

45:10 I agree with Cathy also, that Rachel and William have more chemistry than Rachel and Ian. I think part of the problem is that the show Ian is so much tamer than book Ian. In the book, he *was* like a wolf, wild and a loner and somewhat dangerous. In the show, he’s like a golden retriever. Nice but not worth giving up your whole faith community for.

Cathy! Yeah! You're back! (I feel exactly the same about the new Jenny!)

In the book I think Claire was just passing printed flyers from the print shop in the markets. Not a letter to Washington as a spy.

In the book Jamie gave William a crucifix. In the show he gave him a carved snake. I remember the comments from the producers saying that they would have taken a crucifix away from him in prison.

I agree with Cathy about the jumpy pace. Like last episode, this felt like a highlight reel.... The writing suffered...or made us suffer.

So great to see (& hear) you gals! Antoinette seems to have left X I’m thinking? Haven’t seen anything from her in a long while though I’m barely on there myself since Musk’s takeover.

All the “good lines” are usually from the book. Sometimes Diana’s lines are the only thing that saves an episode. When it is possible to save.

(Passionate Book fan here) The new Jenny character was filling some very big shoes. The first actor in that part nailed it, she was Jenny. The replacement had no time to develop any character, especially the power house that the first actor created. If she had gone with Jamie, she might have had time. But sadly, i don’t think so. That said, the perfect actor for the perfect part is rare. It isn’t always necessary, because the actor may create a more rounded or more appealing character.

In the series Jamie gave him a snake like his brother gave him. In the book, he gave him his crucifix that Jenny had given Jamie. That is what William threw at Jamie when he understood Jamie/Mac was his father, and not only did everyone lie to him, his life and his Title were a lie and he was a fake, a “bastard”.

Antoinette!! I, too, was angry about the stable scene.... It was boring... 😞

They deliberately left out Henry-Christian, since they were going to leave out that whole plot line of his fate.

Wouldn’t Gaillis have medical knowledge? She is from the future after all.
@outlanderbts532Ай бұрын
THat's what I was saying. If she's an herbalist - she likely was interested in herbs and maybe some medical things back in the future. I do agree that she would not likely have had enough experience to basically invent the pinard stethoscope - but who knows... maybe she did research before she went, since her going was intentional, and she found the pinard and was able to have one custom made.

I agree with most of you all. I almost hated this episode, except for Jamie. I'll rewatching and just fast forward after seeing Jamieat beginning and end. FYI, 1918-1721 = 203. It's only 205 bc Claire goes back 202 yrs. It is NOT 207 yrs.
