Legendary guide. Just got the plat thanks to this. Thank you. Although, in the latest patch (for people still going for Messiah), the Marta cart section is way harder now and this method (34:26) was very inconsistent. I ended up using the running straight at the door trick and that fortunately worked every time.

Good achievement guide. It took me a dozen deaths before I ended up getting it. There is an easy despawn you can do for the Marta cart chase section, with the finder having posted a video guide for it on KZbin.

Another good option for those starting the 100% is that you can do the no hiding in closets/barrels in your collectible run so you can enjoy those hiding spots when you get to insane, you don't need to, as you can see in the video, but it could be useful in a pinch

Thanks for the guide, its very helpful and well explained. Only a little advise to others with slow reflexes like me, there is a glitch where you can despawn martha in the part you have to push the cart (running to the wall in the left part of the gate after the first time you return from the hole).

Same here i died twice in a row on that section as i was holding sprint before the game lets me sprint, i swear to god, it's not the enemies that are hard but the rng and random pathing or sometimes the game just decided to bug out and ur insane run ended just like that

I'm using this as a guide for Nightmare mode, and it's helping so much. Though the Nick and Laird part is so frustrating. You can still die at the cliff part after the house with 2 doors if they see you and the arrows are just frustrating Update: Beat nightmare mode in under 4 hours thank you! All I have left to do is Insans if I can ever be bothered to try it.

Im not sure if its only me but LITERALLY ON THE LAST POSSIBLE SPOT YOU CAN DIE AT with marta chasing you and Lin, I follow the path that you took but se always cuts me off mid way and I’ve died twice to this, no one else mentions this so I dont know how to get around it.

I practice that part a bit because same thing happen to me, i used the first door when she starts chasing you then go left (where she come from, the door will brake) so you repeat the same walk and the door at the end will be open (the one that breaks in the video). I don't know if it make sense because i don't speak inglish but to say it easily, you have to go at first from where she do the shortcut if you go in the corridor at the end then just keep running

That's definitely a tough spot. If you go to that section and practice the method I use it gets super easy once you get a feel for it the first time though.

Oh mah gahhhhhhh bruhhhhhh! I found an actual good method for nick and laird! Literally i did exactly what you did and crawled into the window but didnt lock the first door only the second and didnt let them see me. As im commenting this i only did it once so far but i think they always go for the unlocked door and barge in, which is when you jump out the window and run your ass off cause by them being at the first door theyre too far away to snipe you but anybody attempting this do this strat!!!

@Pandallax yeah dude I actually beat the game yesterday and got the platinum haha! I played outlast 2 like a year ago and died like 10 times attempting messiah, then fell through the map in the mines, but then I came back and beat it with only 4 deaths, my heart was pounding!!!

Great run man, the latest patch changed the game a bit. Some of the sections were easier, and some of them harder. The Marta cart section for example is way harder than before... for me the scalled is the hardest part of the game. Laird literary aimbots you, that sucks. I will use your strategy man, it's literary the only one... there isn't any strategy that i can find with the latest patch. Thanks for the nice video.

For the Marta Cart, do the same thing where he hides except this time run straight for the door and stick to it, she will despawn, this works on the latest patch.

Marta on the final encounter gets changed on the way she behave in Insane mode, because I practiced this one many times in nightmare and that pathing you took always work but not for Insane, she will always cut you off, probably they updated this section, any idea about this?

Sneaking through is much better. I died literally after that area where you have to pick up the crank. There was a random dude that ran up to where you have to use the crank. 😭
