@ 4:15 such a raw moment. When you and another man just gave everything you got trying to hurt each other, all that's left is that moment. It's a weird combination of comfort, respect, hatred, and peace. It's the true savages who are compelled in that moment to finish the job.

I remember watching this and thinking Rourke really looked like a fighter. I was a kid but I saw the difference between him and other action stars. Later found out he really tried to make a career in. Boxing. Before this the only other fighter in a movie that I remember thinking was legit was “Paco” from Bloodsport. Later found out they actually pulled him out of a gym in Thailand. Now that I’ve trained for many years I can see why they looked like real fighters. Stance posture etc. Funny how the mind picks up on subtle things

This is one of the most underatted hood movies. Usually hood movies are from the POV of the black gangster or drug dealer, this movie is from the POV of the white boys you see in the hood buying dope. It's a movie you will watch more than once. 2pac and Micky Rouke both bodied there parts, if your a heroin addict in recovery, trigger warning, the part when he gets out of jail and they go and get high, it's so realistic you'll question whether or not they actually shot dope in the movie.

the hardest scene I have ever witnessed watching movies. It reminds me of going to prison in the Wisconsin Department Of Corrections System. The Classification Prison is a Gladiator School. Gladiator School is the name they give a Correctional Facility that has a reputation for being physically violent amongst inmates doing time in that facility. This movie is a Action Drama piece of Picasso Art.
