Starting our VW Tempo Matador Restoration || Outlaw Garage

Today is the start of the serious side of the Outlaw Garage VW Tempo Matador restoration with the removal of the cab from the chassis. Now there must of been an easier way of doing this and definitely a safer way but we eventually seperate the cab and chassis without anyone getting hurt.
This is going to be a long restoration journey with our 1951 VW Tempo Matador cab over engine so settle in, this is not a 2 week job. This is a seriously rusty project however this is a classic pickup truck well worth saving like the VW split screen buses and camper vans. We are already engine hunting for something a little special and also hunting VW Tempo specific parts so it you have any please drop us a message.

And then the cab just fell off 🤣 The steering column was the problem but we couldn't get it off.

G'day, Watching you too take the cab off almost made me piss my pants. I think the problem was one of you weren't lifting.

The bloody steering column was in the way and we couldn't wiggle (technical mechanic term) the cab over the column and the steering wheel so it kept getting stuck. very funny morning for sure.
