I think y’all whiffed on this. All of Rams free agent moves are contracts that align with the three years left on Stafford contract. They can win a SB with Stafford on the field. They’re not planning on moving on. Leak for wanting more guaranteed $ came when they didn’t draft a franchise LT in 1st round. If he’s going to take hits and have increased injury risk, then he wants more $ guaranteed thru 2026.

And all the contracts have optional 3rd year meaning they can get out after two years should MS is injured, retired or anything. After Goff's contract mistake, the Rams are cautious in giving long term guarantee money to players. They obviously are planning to get a ring within two years and 3rd year if MS is up to it and then do an overhaul. I would not be surprised they let go of MS after his current contract.

I will admit, I’m shocked that Stafford is still playing. He’s had back surgery - so have I - and it’s surprising he can still play. But you never really recover from back surgery. Short term post-op is horrible and maybe long term it reduces some pain. But it never goes away.

There is NO WAY the Rams are moving on from Stafford. McVay is his BIGGEST ally and there is NO WAY the Rams are moving on from McVay. The simple truth is, Stafford is playing great, the Rams are moving to a more balanced offense to save Stafford and preserve him for as long as possible. They're starting to be a RUNNING offense and their O-LINE loves it, pass protection is hard. They drafted a RB (Corum) and signed another (Boston Scott), so, it's clear what the plan is moving forward.
