It hasn't gotten better per say, it's an anime movie so of course it's gonna look better than season 1, anime movies almost always look better. We'll have to wait for season 2 to know if the animation has gotten better or not.

i will probably never understand how season 1 was so poorly received, it was fabulous. and black clover anime was so painful to watch i had to drop it so i am not thrilled for the director change. mappa animators are still doing mad work though and deserve all the wages and some well deserved rest time

The cgi/3d modeling definitely saves money, and it makes the slow scenes really pop. The only downside is that the action takes a dip and doesn't look as smooth. The perfect thing about making this arc a film is that they can use all that funding in a tighter timeframe and use way more handdrawn animation. The best example is the recent Fujimoto film, "Look Back." Every frame right down to the subtle movements looked beautiful, and since it was only about an hour, as opposed to a series which can span over 5+ hours, they could take their time and really make it something mind-blowing!! I can't wait to see this film in theaters!!!

They honestly could not be MORE faithful to the manga with this perfect character design, it really does look like the manga moving in real time. Not to mention that it was only a minute and a half of footage from the movie, imo they showed the perfect amount to reel people in. Amazing how we now have an accurate Makima design as well!!

The haters will keep complaining about it being a 'bad adaptation' and spread the false narrative that MAPPA had been neglecting Chainsaw Man in favour of JJK by omitting the fact that MAPPA were practically begging the rights holders to Fujimoto's IP to be the ones to adapt it. The movie fully adapts Tatsuki's style it seems, which is what the fans wanted, so I guess it shows the director and crew wanted the fans to be happy and listened.

Jjk kind of sputtered out with how they ended the story and a lot of people were not happy with how they treated the characters and how many characters died because of sukuna. And for no reason too. It just seems like he had no idea what he was doing near the end of the story and then he just sort of went with it but with chainsaw man as far as we are every part of this entire story has been absolutely insane and it has just gotten more insane but it actually has a good cohesive narrative that actually grows the character along the way and it's done right. I just don't feel the same way with jujitsu kaizen. I wish I did though..

@@subject_4135 Animation for season 1 was great. But certain choices in it made a lot of fans feel it wasn't the best pick for Chainsaw Man. Specifically fans in Japan felt this way What they wanted was more manga accurate designs, more color, more exaggerated movement and voice acting, and less weighted and realistic action. From the trailer, all of these criticisms were answered. The Japanese fans have been loving the change I'm someone who liked S1 but also agreed with some of the criticisms. I don't think they were things that made it a bad product, just not the best fit for Chainsaw Man. Though I do think it'd be literally perfect for Tatsuki Fujimoto's other work, Fire Punch
