I think it looks like a volvo. Not bad. FYI, the charging will be ~135kw at v3 Superchargers (not 100 and below) due to the internal improvements Hyundai did already in the 2025 ioniq5 models over the 2024 models, which carries to the Ioniq9. Not as fast as if in a 350kw EA, but not as slow as what Jordan thinks.

the location of the port is usually left on the right of the car for safety. if you're charging roadside it's on the curb side. So front passenger would be the best compromise.

Why is the charge port on the right side? Simple - this is a “world car” not a US specific car and the rest of the world does CCS2 where it doesn’t matter which side the port is on. Time for Tesla to catch up with the rest of the world and redesign their charge hubs so it doesn’t matter. They already are making supercharger hubs in Europe suitable for any vehicle to use regardless of which side the charge port is on without loosing a space - look at Bjorn’s visits to recently built supercharger sites

I would imagine the charging port is on the rear right hand side so it can easily be charged street side. I don't feel Tesla thought through their plug location enough.

Yes, that are a thing some places, think the rigth solution is a NACS left side and a CSS at rigth side, Audi and Porche have made both side on cars.

The NACS charging should be far better as the 2025 Ioniq 5 has been boasted to 10-80 % in 30 minutes on a version 3 Tesla supercharger @ 135KW nominal, so this could go to 150KW or more. Hyundai we need this on the rear drivers side should not be that big a deal as this is a new model!

I think it looks great. Everything seems great about it. Though, they still seem to have 2 significant things to fix. First, the charging port location. One suggestion I saw below was spot-on I think. Place it towards the front passenger side. WIth that, it could still charge street-side, but hopefully be far enough forward to work on a Tesla Supercharger. Oh well. Regardless, I'm in the market for a larger 2-row, or mid-sized 3-row EV SUV. Question for Jordan, or Kyle: Is the software bad enough that it would push you to something like an Acura ZDX ASPEC over one of the Hyundai/Kia options? Keep up the good work guys!

I like the look from the back, not as much from the front. It would be an easy recommend for me based on what I’ve seen (if they fix the software or have a way to only use Superchargers in the nav).

My Ioniq 5 Limited had a Bose sounds system that absolutely sucked, my 2020 Soul EV Limited (Canadian version) has a Meridian and that is far better.

The Lucid Gravity is my current benchmark. This looks somewhat better than the EV9. Should sell well since people like the ICE Hyundai SUVs. Not as sleek (sloping windshield and overall height) as the Lucid Gravity. Slightly longer and higher than Gravity. Range and hp are lower than Gravity. And yet, price wise, it's lower ($62k - $73k). Has more center buttons than Gravity I like the look of the Gravity and even though the Gravity costs more, I'm willing to pay more for the nicer looking EV. Frunk matter to me because I see what Gravity offers. I'll give it a look when it arrives at dealerships.

Yes, I get that manufacturers are building them because people are buying them because they have been HEAVILY marketed as the 'Must Have' vehicle (that just coincidentally nets the manufacturers the greatest profit margin). ☹
