I felt it was too personal. Jackie is going through stuff not necessary to be personal. And its a big stretch to say jackie calling deepti, deputy is racist. They came up with nicknames with their cast members in their season. I felt it was just too much how natalie came after jackie.
@nouliexiong8425 Жыл бұрын
@@nader85021I think it’s just more than the “deputy” name. It’s about Jackie coming at Deeps on Instagram and then also saying that Natalie had a “conversation” with her and then tagging her EX! She lied. She went on Live to do so as well. Laughing about it as she’s saying Deepti’s name. And honestly I respect Natalie for saying that cause Deeps is her friend. Why wouldn’t you protect your friends when someone is making fun of their name. And like Natalie said they were also talked about from other cast members from different seasons but Jackie from the beginning just had that “idgaf” vibe but was ugly with it and it showed. They gave her grace even after seeing how messy she was in the show. So I’m not sorry for what I said.

@@nouliexiong8425 I just dont like it when people use the term racist too freely. I dont think she knows 100% it was used in a racist manner. I think she could have just left it as inappropriate to not call her by her name and just leave it at that.

I’m with Natalie! Uche was absolutely condescending and interrogatory. He had every right to be upset by the fact they Aaliyah had cheated in her past, but the way he spoke to her, and his tone, and the way he talked down to her like she was a child and he was telling her how SHE felt… it was just not okay. Aaliyah had already made it clear that she struggles to trust people (meaning in her past he’s been given many many reasons to not trust anyone) and here she’s feeling comfortable with Uche and feels like she can trust him enough to open up and be honest, and he attacks her.. idk just my opinion.
@garxgar Жыл бұрын
He had every right to be interrogatory. Cheating in someone's past is not something you just accept at face value. He was condescending because she kept making excuses for it (bad sex life etc). She even said she kept the truth from her partner to spare HIS feelings. If she cared about his feelings she wouldn't have cheated in the first place. Obviously she lied to avoid the consequences of her actions. Uche was just making sure that she held herself accountable for her mistake and even said he appreciated her courage and honesty but she walked out before she heard that part.
@rebornfurnituredesigns2492 Жыл бұрын
@@garxgar I would’ve walked out too if he was talking to me like that. It’s not his job to “hold her accountable”. He asked the question, it’s his job to listen and try to understand and get to know her. If he feels that it’s inexcusable, then he ends it. There’s absolutely no reason for him to be as aggressive and rude and condescending as he was. All that’s gonna do is make her feel like if she ever makes a mistake, she’ll be treated like that again. That’s not building love or trust or showing support or anything necessary for a strong relationship. I’ve told my husband mistakes I’ve made in my past and if he spoke to me the way Uche spoke to Aaliyah he definitely wouldn’t be my husband now.

Hear me out - I don’t think Johnie’s reasoning she gave to Izzy or Chis for why she decided either of them were the “correct” choice for her was contradictory. I do think that she wasn’t explaining herself properly but (or the editors cut out her proper explanations idk). I think people are focusing too much on her using the phrase “safe choice” towards her connection with Chris when actually the important part of her decision making process was that she didn’t want to repeat a pattern by making the wrong choice. She touches on this through conversations after Izzy breaks things off with her. While she was trying to convince Izzy that she is the right person for him, she was saying that she wanted to base her relationship on the emotional feeling for Izzy, rather than the logical reasons she had for choosing Chris, and she calls him the “safe” choice and compares him to her previous marriage which didn’t work out obviously because her heart wasn’t in it. While she was focused on convincing Izzy and not even considering Chris an option anymore, that emotionless relationship is what she was identifying as the pattern to avoid. BUT once Izzy ended it with her she re-evaluates her thoughts and perspectives, and realizes that the pattern she needs to avoid isn’t choosing someone “safe” and ending up not feeling passionate in the relationship. The negative pattern is actually that she has invested herself in a man who is emotionally unavailable to her and in turn shut herself out from a relationship that she can logically see is “safe”. Just like her ex-husband and her late partner with addiction issues, such is Chris and Izzy. Though she doesn’t directly say this - Johnie recognized that her past traumas were causing her to destruct feelings of safety, probably because she struggles with feeling worthy of love, and when someone harbors that sense of worthlessness safety can almost feel like giving up. It’s so common that someone with trauma like Johnie’s will hyper-focus on an emotionally unavailable person because they think that winning that person over can be the way to prove to themselves that they’re worth loving and they finally tried hard enough and finally have been rewarded for their efforts, but when it doesn’t work out (and it never does in these situations) they’re back to square one. If there’s no challenge and no phase of convincing someone like Johnie did with Izzy, it won’t feel like she’s proved anything to herself about her worth, and for that reason, while in that mindset she won’t ever see herself being satisfied in relationship that comes easily, like with Chris. I’m not saying that Johnie ending up with Chris means that they will work out, but I do think that she consciously is on the correct path to healing and did shift her mindset after the rejection from Izzy. I don’t think she’s the two-faced person that the show made her out to be in this situation, I just think she wasn’t paying mine to the fact that the clips were going to be played side by side and make her look really bad so she didn’t differentiate her explanations enough.

Omg this here you hit the nail on it’s head. This is what I have been trying to tell everyone. Why are people condemning her for re-evaluate her decisions. Also the only reason she went back to Chris was because another girl suggested it to her right after she atated she was gonna go home. One of the other girls asks her “Are you going to talk to Chris?” Johnnie says “No, I don’t think I should. Wait, should I?” And the the girl responds “ “Yes, I think you should talk to Chris again.” That coversation goes by so quick if you blink you miss it.

Natalie, I am puertorican and being close to people, hugs, support them is extremely common in our culture. Americans like to keep distance and not get into business of someone else. For example, in PR, we treat our neighbors like part of our family, in USA I dont treat my neighbors like family. You have to understand that Lydia moved to USA and she raised and born in a different culture who being close, talk about personal stuff and hugs is so normal. Second, Lydia and Uche never mentioned anything about their past relationships because the producers did not allow them to talk until later on the show. They were not able to say the truth from the beginning. Also, puertoricans love hard and it is so normal to say I love u or get attached quick. Each culture is different and comparing the american culture with a puetoricans culture is a huge deal.

I don’t think production allowed them to tell anyone they (Lydia & Uche) were involved previously. I think Lydia purposely befriended Aaliyah. I think Uche didn’t take his relationship with Lydia seriously. A guy will sleep with any woman that lets him, they don’t have to see a future with you. Women are different. Lydia thinks Uche cared more about her than he actually did, just because they had sex. Lydia has a lot of insecurities and you can see that every time she says “I just want someone to love me for who I am”.

Think if the tables were turned and Uche admits to her that he’s cheated in the past - I’m sure there wouldn’t be as many defenders for him. He shouldn’t have been condescending bc no one knows the dynamics of a relationship, only the two involved. It was a tough thing for Aaliyah to admit to so she deserved some grace but also Uche deserved to be concerned. Aaliyah should’ve shut Uche’s interrogation down. It was a very vulnerable moment for her so it might’ve been tough for her to shut him down but she has the right to not disclose they details of her previous relationship.

I agree with a lot of what you guys are saying but ever since past cast members have come out and talked about the filming conditions for LIB and the way editing plays a role in how we perceive things, I have been paying very close attention to the cuts and the tone of the background music. The way Lydia was edited when she was talking to Aaliyah, after the Uche thing came out was hands down for the purpose of making us see her in a bad light- it was cut after cut of her saying something about Uche “oh he drives a Tesla” and then cut to Aaliyah’s face looking unhappy, cut to “his dog is going to love you”, cut to “Aaliyah’s face looking unhappy”… why not play the conversation as it unfolded, why so many jump cuts? We are clearly being manipulated to see one as damsel in distress (Aaliyah) and evil villain (Lydia). Just pointing out some things I noticed about how the show subtly points you in the direction they want…

I'm not in any way saying Aaliyah did nothing wrong, but I think it's 100% unfair to ignore the journey and evolution she took from when it happened two years ago to her present. She didn't need to have someone explain to her why cheating is wrong; she CLEARLY knew and she stated as much. I know he's a lawyer, but he didn't need to interrogate her like a witnesses on the stand. Also, Uche directly asked her why she did it and she answered his question honestly, because he JUST got finished emphasizing to her how important honesty is to him. Her answering a direct question with a direct answer is not the same as trying to justify her actions. She never once said or implied that what she did was right or fair. She was merely asking him to have compassion, which he clearly lacks. Regardless of how right or wrong Aaliyah was in her past, Uche is still a red flag with the way he condescended to her without regard to how being attacked would make her feel. If he truly loved her like he claimed, his first instinct wouldn't have been to twist the knife until she cried.

He is calm, he doesnt gossip about other relationship, he focus on him and Lydia. Uche, he was playing games with Lydia from the beginning. He came back with her because he wanted sex. He said so clear "I felt guilty and came back", if you are not really into a person, dont make them feel you are because at the end, it will be more painful. In Lydia’s defence. The producers made them (Uche & Lydia ) to keep things a secret or risk being eliminated from the process. Also am sure people easily form friendships as they live together in there. I don’t think Lydia specifically picked to befriend Aaliyah. Looks like she was friends with everyone, but we got to see more of her and Aaliyah coz there was a storyline there.I think Lydia messed up when she got over-excited & she started over sharing about Uche. She has no self awareness and it’s something she needs to work on for sure. She was wrong for that and hope she learns from this experience. P.s read people magazine online about the whole Uche and Lydia story. Also don’t forget the heavy editing

Uche is not that bad? He never took accountability ONCE. He is an emotional abuser. It’s clear as day. Not seeing him for what he is is truly dangerous

I do not like Jackie at all, but my fiancé and I use that phrase all of the time. Granted, we’ve been together for 6 years. But we quote old vines a lot.

Easily both Uche and Lydia could have come out day one saying they had an ex in the pods but they can't say who due to producers. Would have been much more honest and a lot less manipulative. Also would have been obvious for example who isn't an ex I.e. Lydia's and uches connections are not the exes but still people wouldn't be able to figure it out till reveal and it would have been a lot less traumatizing. With a little fun mystery. Easy to keep the show entertaining without damaging people!

21:15- I read somewhere that uche said the producers didn't allow him to share with aaliya that he knew lydia prior. So this, I believe, is drama manufactured by the producers.

“I’ve met some guys who are into the red, white, blue thing and I’m just like, why?” Hmmmm idk maybe all the people who have sacrificed to make this country as great as it is, how free we are and how far this country have progress not just ourselves but the world. Nothing to be proud of there.

As a Black woman, adding some cultural context for the Josh comment “thicker than a bowl of oatmeal”. That’s a considered a good thing, like she’s got a body with curves in the right places. I hate Josh because he talks like an instagram caption of Drake lyrics, but we should respect and consider ALL cultural nuances. Like Jackie disrespecting Deepti is just another thing that shows her ignorance and character.

I think the producers made them keep having dated each other a secret and then when they were about to propose he had to tell her.

Yeah we told y’all before that Jackie ain’t it but agree with Deepti! Uche asked all the good questions, anyone would be upset and question it but he’s not completely accused either

Did Lydia tell Milton that she selp with Uche?
@alisonpassino9559 Жыл бұрын
Lydia absolutely was in the wrong for talking about Uche in the manner she did with Aaliyah.

The only logical way you know other people in such a vacuum and end up on the same season would statistically suggest either you are dating like everyone in Houston or the producers aren't as dumb as you think

My question to the two of you is if the experiment would have been the same for you if one of the other cast mates had dated your partner previously and told you all the things you had yet to find out about him right before your proposal? Lydia took a lot away from Aaliyah’s experience in my mind.

I’m glad y’all realized how she behaves is so immature because y’all were taking up for her and I didn’t understand why! “If let them show you who they are and BELIEVE them were a person (Jackie)
