Great Lewmar maintenance video cap! Excellent clarity and step detail. Everyone that has a Lewmar windlass needs to see this vid. The keys to keeping them working good are plenty of grease on the inside and sealing the case to keep the water out. Nice job! 👍🏼😎

@UrjunkMygold thanks cap. I appreciate it, and yes keeping the water out is key 👍 Thanks for watching cap

Hi Capt.... this is the best DIY windlass maintenance video on KZbin! Now I feel confident I can do this on my Lewmar 700.... Also, great tip on the final sealing, with the wide masking tape; makes it look like a factory finish.... Thank you for taking the time to make videos that help so many other boat-folks!

@andrewfyakim525 My pleasure, captain.I'm glad this can help you and others maintain your witness which is a very important part of our boats.And they're ridiculous expensive but but very essential for boding, Thank you for watching captain and see you on the next video.Haven't awesome sunday

Awesome job Cap! Sometimes I get as much enjoyment working on and maintaining my boat as I do actually using it. I’ve been trying to save up the past few years to get a good windlass so I can do more solo boating - right now I always need a second hand to anchor - but every year other things come up that take my money! The key to enjoying boating is set a strict budget and stick to it or the cost will begin to make like it a lot less.
@OutOnTheReefАй бұрын

Hello to my favorite Cap! Indeed taking care of all equipment at least once a year, when the season is off, is the best thing to do, best way to invest your time. Take care of your boat, he will take care of you. The mindset when you have everything checked when you go out, is totally diferent. Not all boaters think alike. Great do it yourself. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge. May God aleays blessed you! Props Clear!

@tubeguiller007 I agree cap. Taking care of your boat keeps the value and keeps you alive especially in deep 🌊 And there's some boaters That neglect their boats And the value goes down dramatically Also the seaworthiness, Thank you for watching captainand see you on the next video. Have an awesome Sunday.😉👍🛥and you are one of my favorite viewer 😁🍺⚓️☕️

I have the same windlass this is great info. Let me ask @1:15 in the video you removed a black gasket, you didn't show replacing it. Did you not show it or not replace it? I guess if you seal it off good enough you wouldn't need it. I was wondering if you could even get one?
