if you are young and single, alone, gay or straight, it is a matter of mind whether you feel lonely and despair or liberated with so many options. Life with partners is good, but has disadvantages and brings compromises with its benefits. If you find yourself single, then use the freedom for community work and being social, get out of your own head and space and focus outwardly. The mind determines whether being alone is loneliness or freedom.

TRAGEDY! When the feeling's gone and you can't go on it's TRAGEDY! Loved it! I think the most telling thing is that his taste in men (boys) never evolved. He arrived on the scene at a fresh-faced seventeen, looking for his dream boyfriend (in all the wrong places) and somehow got stuck there. He spent the rest of his life chasing that dream, perhaps to feel young again or because he couldn't bear to part ways with a teenage ideal that never came to pass....? I need a damn cigarette!

i think its about missing the "big opportunity", but also never regrouping afterwards. we all have screwed up something, a friendship, relationship, whatever, that might have lasted a lifetime. i think its what we do post-screw up that counts. (i say this, cause, to me all the dudes the guy looked at looked alike, like he was looking for someone...)

ok after rewatching it, makes more sense, he starts out a a gaynoob at the club and aparently came with someone already as shown the older guy who shoved the smoke in his mouth, realizes hes not in love when he sees the guy his own age there. and now when hes older he becomes the older man appealing to the new gaynoob with drinks. he returns from the bar with a mustache to show time has passed and im asuming the second gay noob just saw his true love and he realizes hes not in love

Most people are afraid of dying alone, including straight people, right now our populations are in excess, there's so much competition it makes alot of people feel inadequate or mundane whether they know it or not. You're not alone in this fear of loneliness, just remember to not be afraid to hope, even when it leaves a heart open and vulnerable. Also society right now is kinda hostile to open hearted people, it's like a thing we do to thicken our shells or something, it's kinda backwards.

Well, I wish you all the luck with coming out and I know you will be successful. However, as I am sure you know, coming out is not just a single event, but is a process and you may have to come out multiple times, as l have and continue to do with new people that I meet and others that have just made assumptions about me. Again good luck, and know that regardless of what people say, know in your own hear that you are an amazing, unique, and wonderful human being...

he starts out the boy being handed things by older men. then he elvolves into the man handing things to younger boys. what i took from this film is that you the fast lifestyles of club kids is ever changing and yes its ok to go to clubs to dance and have fun but dont go to a club to find true love or you will be dissapointed. "Haste has never been our halmark and we would be unshaped if we began to move at speed"

I guess the moral of the story is you should not grow in one scene alone particularly if you are not growing productive in it...people, whether gay or straight, become unwanted as they grow old, but that doesn't mean they can't find true love with that old age...maybe one should be in a different place from time to time and meet people of different perspectives...or perhaps, to make it short, just grow with your age...

While there can be an element of truth in this depiction, the overall impact is so sad and depressing. Let's hope that this situation represents only a tiny portion of the whole community.

looked like he died from a heart attack and i think the moral was just that life is short, and by my personal interpretation, that you won't find love at a club

Actually, the idea on this story is that, in gay life, as we get older, we become less wanted. In real life, this is very true. And one reason he did not get hitched is because he did not venture from his area, and his taste did not change to reflect his aging.

so essentially its pointing out how we tend to take advantage of peoples emotions when we want substances I.E alcohol, smokes and or drugs(money) and again shouldnt be going to a bar or club to meet people as use and addiction to substances or material things will hinder ones ability to find TRUE love

I felt SO sad after wacthing this movie! So what is the message that it conveys? Is it: "you can't find love in the scene?" or "Don't hesitate to make a move when you see someone you like while you're still young?". Or is it that that in the gay world men are alawys looking for someone yonger, a beauty ideal? Or is it just the tragic story of an unlucky individual?

I would say that not always but most people in the gay world ,specially middle age ,early 30's they look for younger ,slim, fresh people,i am 29 and i always had and have as of now strong preference for people younger than me ,not my age or older at all....even tho i am getting older....

What A Brilliant Film. A Genius made this. I can relate to this very much. When I was young I had more competition with guys my age. Being young I also could not afford to accommodate young guys my age. I ended up with older men after the club nights ended. When i can finally afford to own my own home I just hope the viagra will still work

Wow-I love your comment! Brilliant. Absolutley, honey. My next door neighbors have been a gay couple for years and have a happy, peaceful homelife. They still go out, but they love eachother and are monogomous. That's real. That's love forever. They will never end like that pathetic dude! I pray everyone, whatever they are finds God and a loved one:)(-that's just me, tho', 'cos I did!)
@etamlous14 жыл бұрын
@RvenusJD335 Stop being so sensitive and in denial. Gay community does not tolerate criticism---even if internal; t only tolerates others cheering them on constantly. This film is accurate in portraying a big problem in the gay culture. Guys are obsessed with image, superficiality, random hookups and vice. A lot of gay men end up single and lonely because they have a hard time trusting each other and developing meaningful interpersonal relationships. Settling down scares many of them.

D) never let a minor setback (like say a bf or ring) keep you from trying to get what (or who) you want? E) all the above

I'm sorry to disappoint RvenusJD335, but a lot of mainstream gay subculture revolves around youth, taut skin, lithe and beautiful bodies with no place for anything else and what the director is trying to do is provide social commentary for that fact. I think it's important to be self-critical within the gay community; that's the only way it will be able to improve....

@VariadosTCIS Well even so, it's still a very subjective movie, that kind of shuns upon the lifestyle that some gay men choose to live... I am shallow, i truely am, mostly because i view myself as a rather handsome looking guy (might come off cocky too) but that doesn't change the fact that i want a family at some point...
