Churches do not do background checks on people requesting a funeral. They take the word of the family members. These family members lied, plain and simple. In most parishes it is not a problem, as they are small enough for people to know who is who. St. Patrick's is a huge Parish, however, with many outside it requesting services as well. They will need to change procedures now that the alphabet demons have opted to take advantage and exploit Christian charity.

Conducting the funeral in the cathedral was not bad , every deceased person require a good send of nomatter their life . What was wrong is the activities during the funeral which mocked the church . They should have restricted themselves to funeral service without displaying or praising the life of the deceasesd which did not follow churches teachings.

i think that was not the best venue for that event. merely the fact of her atheism should have been enough for the church to be like "nope, we do this for believers" and that would totally be their right. the mourners have every right to conduct themselves in this way. but maybe they should have held it at a satanic temple, they are very welcoming.
