I find it funny when people from the UK criticize American gun culture and act like they're the shining beacon of the world because they're subjects to their government.
In contrast, Americans are free citizens of our country.
The founders used their own guns to fight for the very freedom we have here in America to own guns the way we do because we didn't want to be like the UK.

I work in Newport News, and live about 20 minutes away in Yorktown. The problem 100% is, as you stated in the video, the environment that is around these children. This is the 7 cities area of VA, Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, VA Beach, etc. There is a lot of crime in the inner city areas where most of the gun control is enacted (yeah, VA is set up so that municipalities can determine whether they want to allow open carry, etc). But, just 20 minutes away in Yorktown, where we are known to be more rural, gun friendly, conservative, you see waaaaaaaay less of these problems...

My buddy and I where stationed near York Town as a stop over for medical training before heading off to Afghanistan. We took a trip to London over the weekend to see the sights. Being stupid foreigners we wondered off to a what some would call a "no go zone", people in "man dresses" started to seep out of their "flats" most on there cell phones. We'd never felt so helpless as we did then. If looks could kill, we'd be dead 10 times over. Luckily a taxi driver stopped next to us and told us to get in. He saved our skin! He told us that we were targeted for a beat down. Apparently the way we looked and walked said we were American military. Frankly I love our second amendment. Things like this will happen especially in this day and age. If there was ever a time that the second amendment should be considered a blessing it is "RIGHT NOW!!!"

As a public school teacher this was 1,000% on the parents!!! I cannot tell you how many parents have now turned the school system into a dumping ground for their child(ren). Teachers are now expected to RAISE these kids while the districts place the onus on "What teachers need to do to solve the issues". Anytime I’m teaching a kid about guns, I set one on a table with a hammer and a kitchen knife. I then explain that all three are tools and not toys, and that playing with or misusing any of them can result in them harming or killing someone else or themselves. Haven’t had any incidents.

It is always the same emotional response from those seeking an easy solution, "just get rid of the guns!" This is the same argument from my wife's family in Australia, "just eliminate the guns!" Years ago, Wayne LaPierre, of the NRA, made a poignant argument that eliminating guns, to prevent gun violence, defied logic and reason. LaPierre argued, by that logic, we could expect all the garbage at a local refuse site to disappear, if we "just got rid of the flies." This fight will continue to rage.

How does she expect to defend herself and her child when a criminal points a gun at her or comes at her w/a knife, bat, or pipe? I've lived in several countries as a military spouse where no one but the police and government has access to weapons. It reinforced my belief that I would rather live in dangerous freedom than be subservient to whims of criminals and government tyrants.

In those countries crime rates are near zero. Its a known fact the more police you have the more crime seems to appear in those areas. this is why small all euro towns in usa have 2 to 3 cops. They know the more cops they hire the more crime start to pop up. I know its counter intuitive but the numbers dont lie. Look at all the places that have the most crime, its because those place spend more money on most police, and not the other way around.

Around 239 murders by knives in UK in 2023, 12 of which were under 16. Compared to over 40 000 people killed by guns in the US in 2023. Knife murders in UK probably lower than the deaths by guns in the US because people can defend against knife attacks and most likely survive. You can't defend against a bullet flying at you.

I watched a TV series called UK PD. While gun crime is lower in the UK, knife crime is higher. Patrol constables wear stab vests, instead of bulletproof vests. When constables search cars, when they have probable cause after a traffic stop, they tend to find knives. One a machete, a Bowie knife, a switchblade, and a couple of other knives. Yet, no one in the UK wants to ban knives beyond butter knives.
