Yeah, and I also liked George Carlin's addition to the movie when Shelly and Bette go to New Mexico. But all of the New York parts of the movie are also fun and action packed. Good scenes include Shelley and Bette imitating cops when pretending to bust a couple major drug dealers/fake ID makers to get them to give them info on Michael Sanders, the two of them riding in taxi with a tough guy who also played the tough drill sergeant in "An officer and a gentleman", and them taking the acting class with the so-called famous acting professor (who's turned out to be a criminal who used the theater college as his cover). And then there's this scene with Shelley and Bette talking to the officer who starts out laughing at them, and this was where there was something I don't get. They, as it turns out, hadn't explained to him yet what it was about Sanders that made them so sure the guy in the morgue wasn't him, because they were then overexplaining it with the officer still not seeming to get it, until Bette went a couple of remarks too far and got them thrown out. So, what was the officer laughing so hard at while saying "because of this nugget of testimony, you want us to spend tax dollars on an investigation?" when they hadn't told him yet about Sanders' bigger body part that the guy in the morgue didn't have?

@@ERstat77 The one thing I didn't get about this scene was, what was the officer laughing at during the first moment of their seeing him? @hijodelaisla2754 жыл бұрын
Do you feel that it had an effect on the quality of the film that was produced?
@PJChgo13 жыл бұрын
Shelley was never late to the set - she was a perfectionist so that wouldn't have flown with her. She was the kind of performer who would take one line and analyze it for 8 hours. Costars on Cheers have talked about that too. A great actress but it's not always easy to make the sausages, as it were.
@davidpar22 жыл бұрын
I doubt working with either woman was a walk in the park
@BBB-fx8be11 ай бұрын
Long should be an American national treasure, great performer and character actress - I know she could be neurotic as an actress, a perfectionist as another commenter has mentioned, but also not a bad bone in her body as a head writer of Cheers has mentioned - she has never been spiteful or mean=spirited about any of her colleagues, regardless of what insinuations they have made about her, I think that should be noted.
@alvexok552311 ай бұрын
@@BBB-fx8beI agree with you on that. I've heard too that she wasn't mean spirited. Another question I have is this youtube scene, what is the officer laughing at? They haven't told him yet about the size of Michael Sanders and how it couldn't have been him in the morgue. So what's he talking about when laughing and saying "with this little nugget of testimony, you want us to spend tax dollars on an investigation?". And he still didn't get it until they explained it to him several more times, so what was the officer laughing and talking about before all that?

@alvexok552311 ай бұрын
His family could've been there an hour or two earlier or later. A body can be in the morgue for several days before the funeral and burial and the deceased person's family isn't going to be there every minute of every day until then. And also, the movie suggested that Michael had no family in New York. He was from New Mexico, and it seemed that he didn't have family there either, we never see any of them, or hear it ever mentioned that he had family. The only people Michael's ever with are the other goons who work with him.
