Outrunning Storms in the Western Cape S1EP37

We're setting off from Cape Agulhas, without a precise end destination in mind but we know we will do a lot of nice gravel roads. After a couple stormy days, the sun is shining again as we head east. The small town of Elim welcomes us with its charming row houses and historic sites. Then it's on to Napier where we decide to stop for a couple days to let an incoming storm pass. Along the way we pass towering windmills and sneak up close for a better look. We end up in Montagu, a beautiful town nestled in the mountains, which we reach via the winding Cogmanskloof Pass.

Thanks for the great videos. Really enjoying following your adventures around SA 😍. It would be great if you can just add a bit more info about the accommodation you stay over at, like amenities and meal options. As adventure riders, i often find researching this to be painful, much easier to bookmark from others experiences 😉

🤣🤣 thank you for riding along! Super happy you enjoy the trip with us! We do not put meal options in as we never eat at places we normally buy food somewhere and make it ourselves. Prices also does not work as that changes all the time. As we travrl full time on a very small budget we search out specials 🙈 yes we cheap buggers! Haha! But there are always special deals in areas and sometimes well you are surprised to what you can find. We also see this as part of the adventure. But we will try and add more details in. 😉

Swellendam, its great to visit Bontebok National Park, you can camp and take the bikes in. One of our favorite places to camp. If you are near Caledon on the N2, pop into Dassiesfontein for a moer Koffie and breakfast, its an interesting place. Near Greyton there is a nice farm stay at Geelbos Cottage.

At 20:55 if you had looked up above the arch of rock, you would have seen the Boer War British fort built in 1899. You can park and climb up to it.
