Great training and excellent instruction. People don't realize that we don't walk around with our hands in the air or in a fighting stance all the time. You have to be ready to block and strike from anywhere.

KM is a good self defense system, even if you walk down a street and someone wants to attack you. I can explain why. The exercises (slow motions first with increasing the speed) help develop the muscles memory and all the movements are done on the reflexes level. It’s like your eye that always closes when something is approaching it. But you need to exercise a lot to get to this point.
@88Xlmk11 жыл бұрын
Sorry to burst your bubble, but almost every hand-to-hand combat style rely on muscle practice, muscle memory and smarts. And Krav Maga could be as useless as any other style when you're overconfident.

Wing Chun is one of the grandfathers of most martial arts, and Krav Maga was developed as a hybrid of some of the most practical fighting styles to produce a simple, yet brutally effective discipline. It's no surprise that the style shows Wing Chun influences. Just goes to show what can come out of preserving such knowledge. :)

My brother( sifu José Bracero in Gainsville) teaches; and taught me tradicional wing chun; Krafmaga; was devoloped by the Israeli army for hand to hand combat; never for show or competition; but to me ; that I have three degrees in diferent Martial arts; the most devastating style of combat is; Philipino Martial art; arnis esgrima (kali) a shaft and a blade were used; a century ago; now they use two shafts( sticks) in training

i disagree with making separation at that particular point, it gives your attacker time and space to grab his weapon. At this point, I would take him to the ground and disable him completely.

The principles of krav maga say as many combatives as necessary to stop the threat but must be an appropriate response to the threat. I agree i wouldn't stop with one but if one is enough and they are on the floor then that's that

Some of the people commenting here need to get your heads out of your asses. These are simple, beginner level Krav Maga training videos. I've spent years training in various fighting styles that literally require years of training to be effective. Krav Maga is a style that cuts out all the BS and allows almost anyone to learn a defense fast. Any styles effectiveness depends on the practitioner not the style. Most people can't and won't dedicate years to self defense or combat training, that doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't learn at all. By the way, good, clean, easy to understand videos. ;-)

it probably is :) Krav Maga (well, IKMF Krav Maga anyway... I'd have no idea about any other organizations) always looks to other martial arts as part of it's pursuit in finding the most effective techniques to use. If Wing Chun has the most effective defense against circular attacks, we'll use it :D

I don't get it; why would you want to move away after striking your opponent? wouldn't you want to keep on going until he is KOed completely?
@Drpissed9 жыл бұрын
THE WOODMILL ADMIN It's for most day to day civilian defence, so I assume it's take the guy out and get out before you hurt him really badly and then have to deal with the police for a possible manslaughter. Martial arts is about self defence not purposeful aggression.
@spartacushermeticus17468 жыл бұрын
That may be so but keep in mind that this is just a template. It doesn't mean that you have to end the counter that way. You have to understand concepts. For example, if the attacher has medium to long hair, maybe it's better to grab his hair instead of his shoulder with the right hand. Grab his hair and yank him forward, toward you, as you knee. Maybe you don't knee him once but twice. Maybe before you scoot back, as the opponent is leaning forward, trying to catch his breath from the knee strikes, you execute a vicious hook with your left fist and THEN you move back. All of these are possibilities, it's up to the defender to use his brain and realize that the template can be modified in accordance with what is necessary and what is possible, given the circumstances.

This is a litle bit incorret you should strike the defense with your arm with all your weight foward that way the guy will have an open defense and you can grapple him or puch him , if you run form it he can attack you easly and if he is a bid dude you'l fall of balance the best attack is the counter attack and in a street fight never have your hands down , and defend the wirst no the arm if he has a sharp object he can still stab you with it , and don't always attack the groin the fight will not end there punch the throat and the fight will end there you cannot fight back if you'r vomiting and if you're out of breath ( i'm not native english btw and im a krav maga practitioner)

this here is incomplete krav maga, the point of krav maga is put an end to a situation of danger, you don't go back to your initial position after just delivering a punch, thus letting your opponent come back at you with more, I understand here they are just trying to show 1 segment of the whole drill (I hope), but you must teach the full sequence of movements until the point of disabling of your opponent, otherwise in a real fight with what the adrenaline pumping up and all, the krav maga practitioner will not neither naturally nor instinctively proceed to execute the full sequence of moves, remember you must do a certain mechanical movement with yuor body at least 10,000 times for it to become a reflect, and the reality is that the way you train, that is what you output on a real fight.
@SimSim-pd4bq8 жыл бұрын
i think after learning several segments u can combine them by your self.
