Not sure what Ben was on about with the MiGs. They're relatively small fighter planes and the most iconic one in Vietnam was the MiG-21PF, an interceptor used defensively by the NVAF. MiG-21s have a tiny wingspan. Edit: corrected VPAF (current name) to NVAF (historical name)

I've 3d printed some stuff for Warhammer scale to try to kitbash a bf109 into the Astra militarum thunderbird. Warhammer vehicles are comically undersized and he was correct

@@JustEditingFUN They're not talking about Warhammer though, just 28mm scale (Warhammer's scale is all over the place). A to-scale MiG-21 would only be ~28cm x 13cm. Nowhere near as large as Ben makes out.

I reckon he mixed MIGs up with thr Sukhois. Even for a mixed role fighter they're almost comically huge

@@Rob6094Palmer Potentially, although North Vietnam didn't operate any Sukhois in the Vietnam War and the fighter you're probably thinking of, the Su-27 (and its successors), was first exported by the Soviets in 1990 to China (who then made the J-11). AFAIK, the NVAF only operated MiGs (+ Shenyangs - Chinese produced copies), Ilyushins and captured US/RVNAF aircraft. Vietnam's fight jet Sukhoi would have been Su-17 exports (Su-22Ms) that they would have received in 1976 onwards (I have seen mention of the Su-7 but have not seen a reliable source). They have more recently purchased Su-27s (and Su-30s). Ben unfortunately made a minor mistake and now the comments must suffer walls of text.

wow, unpainted and no mini for 500 eur (422 gbp). i know there's like some design work to be paid for, but i would expect a lot more than a couple sheets of MDF wood panels, just talking labor and materials.
