Thank you both. My wife and I are about as green as they come regarding camping. As a matter of fact, we are so green that we haven't even purchased our trailer yet. 😃 However, we figured that it's better to learn some things now, so we know what to look for when we are ready to purchase one. For example, I think that Rhino Flush could be a game changer! looking forward to more of your tips for camping with an RV. God Bless!

I need to thank you both for making this video! The step by step, although it may be boring to some, was a must for me. I've never owned an RV and will be purchasing this May and am doing this alone (my kids think I'm cukoo!). The setup and breakdown were some of my fears just because of the unknown factor. You two helped with that and now it's not as scary as before. Hey, no one is born knowing how to do this stuff 😆🤷‍♀ so these types of tutorials help!!! It all makes sense now. 👍

Hi ObS, still consider myself a newbie as got my small TT 5 years ago and used about 10 times so far except for 2020 as it sat unused due to the pandemic and a minor physical ailment to recover from. I always do a walk around visually scanning up & down, often twice after hooking up for going and for leaving the campsite. Also do a light check (L/R turn, brake) for the 7 pin trailer connection, forgot a couple of times myself! For all sewer functions use any color hose but white or blue as those are used for potable water, sure you knew that but for those who don't know. Also the sinks and bathtub are handy for storage of items during transit. Everything else is on the floor in containers or on the bed. Any breakable items like ceramic cups should be in the back of cabinets behind the plastics, learned the hard way when my small bungee cords tied around cabinet handles were not secured tight enough, God Bless!!!

Bleed the air out before turning on the water tank electric or gas. Electric elements will burn out without water and the gas ones will develop hot spots which could crack the tank.

Nice job on the video, very informative. Two suggestions, both dealing with water. The pressure regulator install is correct, but I suggest the water filter right after the regulator, then the hose to the rig. A 90 degree on the rig into the city water on the end of the hose is lighter than the filter. You can save some money over time by getting the Camco filter holder, and a regular whole house filter. Two 3/4 to garden hose connectors for connections, and just replace the elements. Initial expense, a bit, but elements are cheap, vs the in line filter. Also, water on first and purge air BEFORE power applied to the water heater. Turning on the water heater, the element begins heating immediately. If, for some reason, there is not enough water in the heater to cover the element, you are making a trip to Lowes or HD to get a replacement element, and that just cuts into relaxing.....Yes, I've done it, and I carry a spare element in the tool box.

@Carr Estes We appreciate you watching our video and taking time to comment! Since making this video, we have definitely learned a few things and have made a few changes on our setup! We agree with what you are saying about the water heater. Sometimes we do put the water filter at the spigot if there is enough clearance between the spigot & the ground. In regards to the water filtration, we do have that in our home but feel as though we don’t have the space in our trailer storage. Wonderful recommendations! We definitely love hearing from our TT community and always learn new ideas from our viewers! If you haven’t already, we would appreciate your support by subscribing to our channel! Thanks again! 🤩

@Pineapple Smash You have to be able to stop the flow of water to check the pressure. We have an off valve at the other end of the hose that connects to the trailer. When you turn the water on with the valve closed, it will give you a pressure reading. We set ours at 40 to 50 not to exceed 50. Hope this helps! 🤩

Good video. We have the exact trailer. Dont turn on your water heater until you let the water fill the hot water tank failure to do so will burn out the heating coil. I was going to mention the same thing. Electric heating elements will burn out really quickly if the hot water tank is not full. Purging the lines is a simple way to make sure that there is water in the tank (you could also quickly flip the pressure release valve).

Pliers were part of the problem. My 90degree fitting fell apart and went through 2 hose seals and then figured out it was the spicket was the problem which is where the teflon tape came in handy. First thing, Check the utilities First! Nothing worst than finding out the electric pedestal is wired wrong or no electricity or the water isn't working and you have to hook up and move to another site. This happened to me. Now I check them first. My ten step set up procedure... 1. Pull up to the site and look it over before pulling in. Look for overhead branches and debris on the ground, anything that would keep from pulling in. 2, Pull/back into site, check that the utilities work and will reach. Check that the water flows and the pedestal is wired correctly. Spray water faucet with Lysol. Look at sewer hook up for anything unusual. Go no Go. If all above checks out proceed, If not contact campground office to correct problem or get new site. 3. Level trailer side to side and see that steps clear. 4. Chock wheels. 5. Unhook trailer from Truck. 6. Level front to back. 7. Stabilizer jacks down. The rest in any order. 8. Connect water, electric, sewer, cable TV, if applicable. 9. Chairs, awning, table. 10. Cold beverage.

@OutsidebySide
@OutsidebySide Жыл бұрын
@tamidavidson6412 There are no dumb questions when learning & we are here to help! We learn everyday. 😀 It depends on what kind of fridge you have. Some can run on a 12 volt battery which are in the newer trailers. Some can run on propane but they still use a battery in to the propane. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and please let us know if you have any additional questions. 🤩

Great video for newbies. I learned some things I needed to change in my electrical hookup and unhook. One thing that I noticed on hooking up your chains to your vehicle receiver. I believe I saw your breakaway cable braided through your chain. Your breakaway cable should be attached to your vehicle receiver as an individual connection separate from the chains and a bit shorter than your chains. There are some excellent videos on hooking up a breakaway cable and explanation as to why it should be a separate hookup.

@Sharon Gibson Thank you for watching our video! Since making this video, we have made changes as well including our breakaway cable which is set up exactly like you are describing! @OutsidebySide
@OutsidebySide Жыл бұрын
@garycooper2738 yes, there is toilet paper made for RVs that breakdown better than conventional TP, however we made the decision in the beginning to not put any TP in our black tank. The RV TP will breakdown & dissolve faster, but tends to stick on the walls of the tank and can also affect your tank level sensor. Thanks for watching! 🤩
