Tom you always have great helpful videos, I have had the same problem plus I have arthritis in my wrists which makes it hard to handle the net at times when its full of water. Will I have goop in the shop and tomorrow morning I am going to fix my net, thank you

Have you ever tried the detachable carp nets with the metal spreader block? I'm a big fan of mine though I will admit I did just break my handle 😢

I haven't. Can't see one of those working very well or lasting very long in the wild waters I fish. Maybe if I go to England some day then I'll try fishing like an Englishman. 😁

I live in NY and the carp landing nets are very good plus the fine mesh is better for the carp scales. Also if you had put a bit of a pool noodle on the handle by the net it would help it from filling with water 😏😁👍

Hey brother have you try spray foam that seem to work too Be safe out there brother and keep on fishing🤙🏼

Good solution, but possibly quicker would be just to remove the plugs and stick a spray foam straw deep in there and giving it a squirt. The expandable foam will seal up the hole and will weigh next to nothing.

@@OutsidewithTom I'm talking about canned spray foam one brand name is called "Great Stuff"$4.00 a can, Not the kind you use to insulate your attic. That product would be perfect for that application.

@@OutsidewithTom haha. I still think I side with Max, if you spray and let it harden. You can cut off the rest. While its drying(still sticky) then oh yah it can become a nightmare quick!

squirt Great Stuff foam down inside the tube and it'll float

I thought of that but thought it would jam up and not go all the way around the hoop. Have you tried it?

@@spiralhead i saw em do it on youtube 1 guy was Fishing n Stuff another was a diy on making landing nets. They said it was great and perfect. Think ya need the large cell foam.

@@spiralhead Every time I've used that stuff I've regretted it. It never works like you hope it will. I think most people who recommend that stuff to others have never actually used it themselves.
