the funny thing is, this is literally the best ending possible since the others end with either a drug lord or an incredibly religious (in all the bad ways) dictator being in charge
@FadeRadio119 сағат бұрын
The grand irony is that this is EXPLICITLY the case. Like no, Pagan Min isn't a perfect guy who has done no wrong, but you learn throughout the story that he is genuinely doing better than anybody else can for the country, and he also genuinely sees you as essentially his son (or at least the last remnant of your mother whom he loved) so he tries time and time again to just show you that he GENUINELY doesn't want to hurt you or oppose you, and that you are simply running with the wrong crowd out of misguided ill-informed hubris. Even when he does have the opportunities to stop you, he deliberately does NOT harm you, and at worst puts you in what is essentially 'time out' in a cell for a minute while he runs off to deal with some other terrorists for a minute (not assuming you'd manage to escape). The thing that makes this game so genuinely genius is that it sets Pagan Min up to seem like some utter horrific villain, but the rest of the game basically slowly unravels more and more to simply show that your entire journey from the get-go was a mistake from the moment you left Pagan Min's lovely dinner.

@@FadeRadio1 It really doesn't. He made a colossal golden statue out of artifacts he looted while the people are impoverished. He even has a line when he's speaking on the radio during the final mission where he chuckles about faking letters from the lady's kids just to show how sadistic he is. Nothing in the game suggests the golden path would be even half as bad even with the heel turn. Also you can shoot the other leader in the face after the cutscene and just end the problem there.

9:17 also, a good contender for "games that have no good ending/s", hinthint, nudgenudge? Well, I guess there IS _technically_ a good ending: if you get Ellen killed in Viola's body, so even though Viola dies, Ellen is still punished for what she did. Which, at best, is a Pyrrhic victory. Cause, you know, Viola still has a quite horrific death after experiencing a very brutal betrayal. All that happened, when all she did was go out of her way to befriend what seemed to be a lonely, misunderstood girl.
@glassphoenix9095Күн бұрын
if you get all the way up to the final chase and let "ellen" catch and kill you, theres a grim thin hope viola might be able to use ellen's magic to swap bodies again, so that might be the best technically-a-good-ending
@FrostyflytrapКүн бұрын
If you read at the secret notes around the house, you'll find out that the spell Ellen used to swap with Viola requires both parties to consent, and there's no way Ellen is going to say yes to returning to her old body. In addition to that, it's told in prequel novel written by the game developer that Ellen cannot physically die due to the contract she has with the black cat demon. In the game, every death you experience is canonical, and the black cat just brings you back to life, which is a fascinating diegetic explanation for why the cat is a save point. You can also see this in-game with how if you step into one of the spike traps, reload a save, then look at the spot where you died, there will now be a blood stain where there wasn't one before. So yeah, pretty much no good ending no matter what, so that's pleasant.
@VeryPeeved21 сағат бұрын
Viola was a damnable fool. Even a cornered rat will claw and bite to survive, much less a witch. Viola knew how the spell worked, she would have had to or it wouldn't have worked (knowingly and willingly was the requirement, was it not?), so what the hell did she think was going to happen when she put herself in a position where her life depends on the witch willingly going to her death just to save her? Would she have been willing to do the same? Clearly not. So why would she think that Ellen would be?

My genre savvy told me to do nothing those seven minutes and it turned out that led to the best ending. (I think it was otherwise a platformer, and I think I remember hearing there was a goal to reach, the closer to it one makes it the better the ending they get, and a massive hint for the actual solution being provided if you make it there in time.)

It's like playing a game as Jack The Ripper Jr., out to get revenge on the people who hurt poor innocent Jack just because he was skinning the victim alive for thrills at the time. And notably, the MC is whiny and emo while doing it, not even a crazed Joker-like laugher for that crazy-charisma, not once bit of joy, it's a grimdark task to keep up the great works of dear old Ripper Sr, randomly killing for objectively bad reasons. @WolfyFancyLads10 сағат бұрын
Yeah, you have to grab it _while_ being chased. You can also unlock more lore by never saving the game, as it's revealed at the end that the save point (the cat) is a demon. (I think I'm safe to spoil this because I highly doubt many people will get this ending) By saving all the time, you cause the demon to die from using too much power, but by not saving it reveals that it knows who you are and that "of course you'd not succumb to the traps of this house. This is your home, after all." Viola is sadistic too, actively mocking her friend for being so stupid and enjoying getting away with it all.

I just did this in another game! Then you can simply turn around and get in the boat you arrived in and ask the boatman to leave. Credits. It unlocks a new book in the Library, The Path of the Coward, which includes more hints and codes for more unlocks, so it actually GIVES you something for beating the game this way.

In Mario Party Jamboree, there is a Minigame called Gate Key-pers, where you have to match a key with one of the three doors. You can literally just press A to pick the first key the cursor land on pick the first door your cursor lands on, then ad infinitum. Like the game is in auto pilot, accept you just press A and move the cursor that is literally all you do.

I first learned of The Witch's House as one of those games that has a lot of unique deaths. Somehow there seemingly isn't a name for this? But to me, this game, infamous projects like Demonophobia, the output of FoxEye and games like Ratuz make up a genre.

Just imagine your in your bedroom loading up Far Cry for the first time, the intro starts, and your mom yells at you to come out from your room to talk about something, so you dart out to talk, and then run back to your room only to begin the dialogue sequence that ends the game, leaving you confused and dismayed... 😂

IdleRPG. You launch it, and it makes a character for you, goes on adventures for you, collects gear for you, grinds for you. On top of that, there's no way to interact with your character. All you can do is watch the stats go up.

If you've read the novels based off the game Witch's House, simply waiting out Viola's death makes far more sense in character.

I love that Farcry 4's do nothing ending is basically how the King of Spain took over from Franco, Franco just Lelouch-ed himself.

One of my favorite games of all time, Space Rangers 2 (yeah, the title is corny, but it's intentional), can effectively "play itself" without any input from the player, because it's an open world with NPC behavior advanced enough to actually beat the final bosses eventually (or the other way around, depending on the selected difficulty level). The player basically acts as a booster to the good guys, tipping the balance in their favor and spearheading the war effort.

I remember playing a game about 10 years ago called "Relive Your Life." A ton of endings, but if you do literally nothing, you get the ending of becoming Doctor Who.

NGL, I was totally gonna comment about how I couldn't believe they didn't include Far Cry 5, until Mike prophesied it, and now I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna be the prophesied chosen one, we all know what happened to him at the end of Far Cry 3.

i know its cliche but the far cry series has probably my favorite version of these endings between pagan min, going back to get the national guard against the church, and just leaving for america its honestly a nice addon for the logical answer

I think there should be a alternate evil campaign for Far Cry 4 where you work your way up Pagan Min's organization ending up as either his second in command or usurping him and taking over the country.

Hey Outside Xtra! I wanted to clarify something regarding Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. While it might seem entertaining to consider the idea of completing the game without doing anything, it's actually not possible. The game requires players to engage with various mechanics, like managing resources and surviving the nights. Simply doing nothing won't trigger the necessary events to progress or reach the end. Just wanted to share that insight! Keep up the great work!
@tomsyalad9556Күн бұрын
Not for the mediocrity ending; if you never raise your risk above 1, never salvage any animatronics and don't buy Lefty you'll never have any danger in the night sections. Ordering supplies and printing advertisements isn't quite nothing, but it's pretty close!

In the game, “Please Don’t Touch Anything”, if you listen to your coworker and, well, don’t touch anything, you can get the easiest of the many endings.
@torgranael11 сағат бұрын
For anyone curious, neither Far Cry 5, nor Far Cry 6 qualify for this list. 5's alternate ending still requires you to actually walk up to the church, while 6's requires nicking a boat and cruising into the horizon.

Seems the "farcry" guys loved that idea so much they made it an option for the following game as well ^^ (and ALMOST made it in the 6th game as well... here it's not waiting but LEAVING: "You want me to do WHAT? Singlehandedly topple a dictator by fighting his whole army? NOPE! I'm out...")

Gonna be honest, FarCry 4's secret ending is arguably the game's best ending. Pagan has no ill will towards you, and both resistance leaders resort to some pretty dicey shit once they're in charge.
