I think Ludwig, The Holy Blade is a good shout. He's a good man, and (provided he's in his "Holy Blade" form, not his "Accursed" form) is mostly sane, which is more than can be said for most bosses in the game. He even founded his own holy order of hunters (which most members have gone insane and murderous, through no fault of his own considering he essentially got stuck in hell), which is potentially pretty attractive for some; people like a man with authority and power. And hey, if all that doesn't do it for you, he's, uh, like a horse in all the places that matter if you know what I mean.

this video made me think and I just realized that the witch of Hemwick worked for Micolash, and the snatchers too. And the one reborn is probably what Micolash was trying to do with all the bodies he accumulated for the ritual of Mensis, which is the thing that turns all yharnarmites into beasts when the blood moon comes, something that was prevented by Rom the spider until we kill her When you think about it, Micolash could be considered the main antagonist of the game and you don't even know who he is when you meet him, and he dies pretty easily

I do feel the need to point out that Gehrman killing you is not him cleaning up your mess or an evil act on your part. Regarding Ghermann, not only did he model the Doll after Maria. It is also implied that he "used" the Doll too. Also, it's not him that's using you. He physically can't do anything after he kills you because he's trapped in the Hunter's Dream. He kills you so you won't take his place and be trapped yourself. Also, it's the Moon Presence that is using you.

You can actually propose to the Queen of Cainhurst, Annalise, if you go into the Chalice Dungeons. When you get the ring from the boss version of the woman in the bloody wedding dress you see on Rom’s Lake, you can kneel and propose. Annalise rejects you though :(
