The Giant Lord getting farmed by players over and over again adds so much meta-level to his lore. No wonder the Last Giant freaks out so much at the start of the game when he first sees us!

When my Soulsborne nerd friend told me about the "climax" dungeon, I ground my way up to level 300 over the course of the game, doing one full stack of Bold Hunter's Marks before each major boss. Still can't kill Orphan with max Vitality and weapon strength, he's just too fast. 🥲 The irony that I'm constantly pounding away at those Echoes but denied "release" by that placenta-slinging toad.

For me? Definitely the five hollows on the Drake Bridge in Dark Souls 1. Since the area is conveniently placed right next to a shortcut and bonfire, all I had to do was poke my head out from the stairwell and the hellkite drake would serve up barbeque undead to the tune of 555 souls -- not a lot in the endgame, but at the point you find it in Dark Souls 1, easily enough to get one or two of your stats to 40 without a sweat.

It for sure helped get the ball rolling on my first playthrough. Farmed probably 40-50k of souls and then I think I made it to the belfry on my first real run past the drake bridge. Didn’t even know there was a way to open the bridges gate and make the drake leave.

Darkroot Garden in Dark Souls 1. The mage, cleric, and invisible thief were easy to lure out, kill for a total of 6000 souls, and then it was a quick run up the stairs to the bonfire (initially hidden behind a wall) to start the process over again. I farmed those guys for hours and leveled up substantially.

@@mr.tamoshanter50 I mean, there are mechanisms in place to prevent PvP ganking (they still don't work lmao, but it would've been much worse without them). Players cannot engage in non-consensual PvP if they differ too much in levels and weapon upgrades. So it literally doesn't matter whether a player levels up slowly over the course of the game or instantly - starting with Dark Souls 2, you will only be able to invade players of a similar level/soul memory bracket. In that sense, it's not even really a cheat, just a way to make a new character fast. It's nowhere near as concerning as actual cheats and hacks that exist.

I think my favorite is the Ghrus and Darkwraiths in front of Farron Keep in DS3. You don't actually need to do any fighting for the most part, since the wraiths and ghru will have a big fight against each other so all you have to do is mop up. For the Sekiro entry, I also farmed a Ministry ninja except the location was different. Within Ashina Castle, the first Sculptor's Idol you find upon entering past the two "WOO" guys from kites through the window has the best spot throughout many portions of the game. Even progressively gets better as the game progression takes place, with the enemies becoming slightly different, semi-difficult, and much more lucrative as it ramps up. Best part about it all is that you can full-clear the room(s) via stealth at all times, and it takes about 30-seconds each cycle. If you add further the Demon Bell status, it's a very profitable farming spot for XP alongside money!

This spot isn't super close to the Bonfire though since the elevator actually takes a while to reach the top or bottom. Besides, you'd have to kill any remaining Ascended Winged Knights (yes that's what they're called) that survived after they've killed their rapported friend. And they're by no means easy to kill, even on their own. An easier farm spot would be the one near the door to the Abyss Watchers. A couple of Darkwraiths spawn in to pick a fight with a bunch of Ghrus. You don't even need to lift a finger for this one, just sit back and watch as they absolutely go to town on each other. Best part is that there's a bonfire not even 3 seconds away.

It gave a solid amount of exp for going around and killing a few enemies rapidly then going back to a nearby rest point. I think it was a little trickier than the one listed here, but it was quicker overall and felt more active.

I'd say my favorite in DS3 is the basement in Irhythl of the Boreal valley with all the creepy-crawlies. Spent way more time down there than I care to admit. And it's just a quick run (through water, which doesn't consume stamina in DS3) to get to the Distant Manor bonfire.

A good farming spot in Elden Ring is near the elevator to Mogh's boss room. There are a bunch of red alburnacs that can be killed for a good number of runes. Even better is there's a site of grace nearby to repeat the process as many times as needed.

There's a great spot after divine dragon, when the ministry attacks. It's close to where the original Chained Ogre was. The area is now overrun with ministry soldiers, but from the idol they almost all have their backs turned, so you can backstab your way through in a few seconds pretty much, with no resistance, and they give lots of XP.

I remember farming in DS3 in a perfectly cheesy way. The Darkwraith in the High Wall of Lothric can be encountered fairly early and can be a tough fight. Then you remember you have an elevator on your side, and with a little bit of timing you can make the Darkwraith fall into the infinite void that is an elevator shaft, all the while you are already returning to the bonfire to start this all over again. Best part: the Darkwraith can drop the entire Dark set, including the Dark Sword, which was wicked before a patch, and still pretty good afterward.

In dark souls 3, in the ringed city, at the Ringed Inner Wall bonfire, there's a string of enemies you can fight on the way to the City Streets Bonfire that comes after it. In this section, there are a bunch of Herald Legion Knights, those big bramble looking enemies that have large health pools and hit like a MAC round (halo refference XD). It just so happens that you can drop onto these enemies from above for a plunging attack in their stupid void-looking head that Instant Kills them every time, versus having to fight them outright. The best part of this, the game makers have placed convenient bridges in the city for you to do JUST that, and one of the knights even walks all the way up the hill to a final resting spot in a lonely little corner that literally ONLY EXISTS to let you know it's possible to plunge attack them. If all else fails, simply run into the building at the top of the hill that they're too fat to fit through, and you're untouchable! These enemies drop around 100-200k souls per run and take about 5 minutes to mop up. Just be careful to take care of the ringed knights first.
@GriffinWolf
@GriffinWolf 10 ай бұрын

At the bottom is a Godskin Apostle standing guard that lets you get into glintstone pebble range on an elevated point without aggro. Even at only level 15 or so I could kill him with a flask of cerulean tears or two, and he had trouble pathing up to where I was. There’s a particular sorcerer just beyond the sealed gate in Darkroot Garden in DS1 that I usually spend a few hours grinding each play through. The gate itself is expensive to open at 20,000 souls, but with the “hidden” bonfire on one side, and a cliff on the other that’s easy enough to trick the sorcerer into falling off to net 2,000 souls a pop, you can easily get your money’s worth and more.

The Ray Farm: In Demons' Souls, in that world where the flying stingrays are, if you sprint through, you'll find a sword called 'Storm Ruler' (I think). Wielding this behind one of the building ruins(for cover) and attacking in the direction of a stingray, releases a blast of energy, stinging the ray to death. When Storm Ruler is uses up, simply activate the conveniently placed Hero Stone. This brings you back to the Nexus to repair damage. Allowing you to re-enter the world, when ready. Precisely at that same Ray farm.

I've a few farming spots I always use... Bloodborne: There's a run from a lantern up to where you fight Mergo's Wet Nurse with 3 mutated pigs (which drop 000s of echoes, maybe even about 12k, I don't remember off-hand) and also peppered with Shadows of Yharnam. The first pig can be reliably visceralled for boosted echoes, too. Dark Souls: When you open up the shortcut in Undead Burg which is the ladder from the bridge where the dragon is to the bonfire of the area, you can repeatedly rest and then get go up to the bridge to make the dragon breathe fire, killing the enemies of the bridge for around 600 souls each time. Since this is very early on in the game, it is a great way to level and also buy-out the Undead Burg merchant. Honourable mentions: The crystal crab enemies after (I think) you beat Seathe the Scaleless, the phantoms in the forest through the Artorias door. Running round the Anor Londo castle and beating all the silver knights. Dark Souls 2: I like to clear out all the Alonne knights in the main exterior area of Iron Keep. What's good is half of them will just run to you so you don't have to do much walking, they'll come to you. Dark Souls 3: The winged knights on the roof of the archives, this is right before the Lothric princes boss fight. There are also the slug-like goo enemies near the bonfire where Rosaria (I think?) is, this is a good farming spot, in Cathedral of the Deep. Elden Ring: I farm the crawling hands in most of the places they appear. Oh, there are quite a few; The 'heralds' after the first site of grace in Lenydell, Royal Capital. The ants in the cave... the underground area... The cave where you get Elden Stars. The ants are very susceptible to AoE and easy to farm. This whole area, especially the multitude of basilisks and the leg-less gargoyle things. I farm this whole area. The giants at Stormhill where there are half a dozen or so all in the one place, 1000 runes each.

Chocobos in final fantasy Tactics. The yellow ones could be trapped and disabled so they didn't deal any damage. Then you beat them and your leader while healing them the whole time. You didn't actually wanted to level up, you wanted maximum job points. As long as you had the right ability equipped you could farm forever, I remember hitting a chocobo for 3 exp and 26 jp (you got 10 for equal level). This was really useful at a few points where the difficulty spiked or you had limited farming options anyways

It is a bit late-game, but in Bloodborne go to the "Middle Loft" lamp in Mergo's Loft area, and quite quickly you will be able to backstab a giant pig worth a ton of blood echoes. After that you can just run forward so that two more giant pigs follow you, meet with a bunch a shadows, and forget about you. Wait a few seconds and the pigs and the shadows will obliterate each other, leaving just a few badly injured survivors who can be killed for even more blood echoes. The whole run is a bit longer than most farming spots, but the amount of echoes you get is so high to make it a well worth investment.
