Nathan Cation “Mad Max USA” on Facebook sells the rippers and the Russian indestructible hdpe bodies. Also killer for serious bashing!! Helpful group to belong to with Tons of XMaxx info. Andrew Appleton (KZbin, “All Day RC”) has a wealth of build knowledge and is a great guy!! His “Ultimate Xmaxx Build” series is awesome. He also makes belt drive conversion kits. I have no affiliation with Mad Max or All Day RC in regards to selling or promoting the G-Rippers, indestructible bodies or the belt drives. They’re just excellent products. The Xmaxx is a total beast! You gotta get speed! More speed for height and once the Xmaxx is airborne it actually controls real well...you gotta just give in to the bash and send it ;) Mines been about 40 feet in the air at the skate park and even had a number of really bad landings...only broke the front bumper so far ;) You should also get the link and ALWAYS shoe goo the bodies on ALL cars ;) Sorry, just realized this vid is two years old but points are still good ;)

Very fun truck to drive no doubt. But be ready to drop some serious money in it if you plan on buying one. Bought mine brand new a couple of months ago and it has just been one thing after another. First day out of the box my esc caught fire and did a ton of damage so after sending it back to traxxas to be repaired, i bought a hobbywing max 6 esc just to avoid it catching fire again. Ran it maybe three times and body pulled through and three of my tires came apart and two of the shocks leaked out all the oil. So if you plan on buying this truck just know that 900$ price tag is just the beginning. Ended up shelling out 200$ for the proline badlands, 160$ for the max 6 esc, 15$ for shock oil, scrounged up some body washers, two servos because of the plastic gears stripped. But all in all if you dont mind the cost its a fun truck to own.

get cen hinge pins and rpm hubs and spray the arms with wd 40 or muc off MO 94 to make the plastic flex and get a hobbywing max6 esc u will be amazed. BTW the screws being pulled through happens all the time put the plastic washers u get with other models
@cliffcampbell88274 жыл бұрын
It's lexan, plastic that's thinner than construction paper. Using washers to reinforce the areas around the screws is a good idea or you could use a strip of plumbers tape (bridged between screw posts and shaped to the body contours) and/or strong tape (on the inside) like gorilla or duct tape. There has got to be dozens of ways (from cheap and quick to expensive and detailed) to strengthen the lexan without covering the body graphics. A little research can go a long way or experiment and develope a whole new technique that's perfect for your style of RC operation. What works best for me is to remove the stock shell and buy 7 or 8 disposable bodies then destroy every last one of them.

You need the receipt for the xmaxx and You will just have to take pictures of the holes where the screws pulled out ,and tell them you only ran it once. No major jumps and a couple tumbles later all the screws were torn threw the body.. I'll tell you how to re enforce the new body.. dry wall hex shaped tape the sticky stuff and silicone . Also I cut out squares that fit in the screw holes with washers and it helped alot.. eventually they rip through again but not the first run. Also Proline sells a body for 100.00 that is supposed to be for the XMaXx thicker plastic.. And there's is a Russian company that does have a indestructible body. For 125.00 plus shipping but don't give them your credit card number lol use a prepaid see what they want first.. Check out proline first . More dependable...

Right out of the box, the Xmaxx just won't back flip well. The wheelie bar will hit the face of the jump and stop rotation. Also, you just don't have the wheel speed at stock gearing to rotate that heavy RC. Gear up a little and remove the wheelie bar and you should be good to go for flips. The Xmaxx is tough as nails and EASY to work on. The body will hold up OK as long as you improvise some sort of washer for the screws. I just cut a used, plastic oil jug and made little washers from that. They blend with the black plastic well and are basically free. Just take a little time to make them look nice. You will also HAVE to spend a little time and reinforce the body shell...especially from where the roll bars connect to the bed and back. Any roll-over or landing on the tail will trash the body at the bed/tailgate. Some folks recommend the Max-6 ESC, but I have had no problems with the Traxxas one. I will tell you that you will likely need to buy the upgraded servo for it. The stock servo will likely fail. It's quite under powered for a truck that size. In fact the "upgraded" servo should be standard. Some will suggest the RPM hubs, but I personally have NOT had an issue with them breaking. Though, the bigger bearings would be nice (they only make rear hubs though, pfffft). Take the wheel bearings out after any....ANY dirty, muddy, wet, damp runs. Clean them thoroughly, pack with grease and reinstall. Those small inner bearings will get trashed if you don't take care of them. One more thing: Take the set screw out of the pinon gear, clean it thoroughly, and reinstall with HEAVY thread lock. The pinon will come loose if you don't.

Just reached 8:10 when you discover that the body had rather surprisingly broken. Traxxas could really have built that better. But why didn't you get any sleep? Did you know you were getting hit by a car? :)

I reinforced my body with a coating of rite stuff(gasket maker), 1 fiberglass layer, followed by another coating of rite stuff. Bashing the xmaxx for months now stock body.
