www.SourceSeek.com - Connect WIth Top Offshore Software Teams
India has been around for a long time and has a mixed reputation for quality, but is still growing at an incredible rate and remains one of the most driving forces in the offshore software market.
The value in India is good, mostly due to the huge supply of delvers which keeps prices down. However, while Indian programmers generally speak English, communications and cultural issues are common and are suspected to cause most of the perceived quality issues. That said, India can be a reliable and high-quality provider of software if you know where to find the right team.

Also the time difference, very hard to be at office at the same time if your shop is in India. So one of you is going to be taking conference calls in your PJs

The reason code written in India is of poor quality sometimes is that companies employ juniors with 1/2 years of experience in critical projects. In service based companies there is hardly any option to become an architect, they will push you to become a manager whose sole job is to manage resource. Which is a waste of a good resource

Outsourcing is dangerous. For ANY country. I have an Indian friend who is REALLY good at Programming and Computers in general, and even he admits that the Indian schools will teach nothing but Borland C, or other outdated platforms. Not to mention how much China and India pirate Windows, when Linux is free and well-supported...

There should be percentage quota to outsource jobs to India. 70 % of workforce in US and 30 % in India as an example. It's a big crime from top US corporations to outsource majority IT jobs to India. How about to outsource Company President, CIO, CEO, VP positions to India. Many US IT professionals notice what a majority of workforce already inside IT departments of big corporations. Huge disproportion between H1B visas workers and US citizens. Where US college graduates should go? US Government should urgently take a look at this issue.

The Israelites have anointed Indians as their strategic allies as they both share common enemies. And since the Issies rule the USA (and by extension the Western World) they have made sure that Indians keep flooding into the USA, get top jobs in US companies (which they mostly own), and work gets sent to India. No other reason.

Dave, This video points out a lot of common pros and cons. One element I find interesting is how the difference in English is described. While Americans may not understand Indian English and it's idioms, Indians also find the same problem in understanding American English. I am and American living in India. I coach cross-cultural teams to communicate with clarity. One tip I stress to everyone is to speak plain English, which is harder said than done! I also found it interesting that you give lots of good feedback about India, but suggest not to work with Indian teams in favor of other countries or cultures, possibly. I really think it's all about fit. There are many successful projects that start and conclude in India. People like me are also there to help barter the cultural confusions to help business run more smoothly! Thank you for this helpful video. Regards, Jennifer Kumar

I think the billion "low quality" and "cheaper' developers should now think about developing quality in India and stop accepting work from the west gradually. What's not being said here is, despite all the flack, the greedy western companies do outsource their shitty work to Indian developers while keeping the main design in their home countries.I can tell you without doubt - Indians make things happen. It's just a global nervousness as we now gear up to leave the years of IT slavery and focus on learning the tricks of the trade. My only advise to my junior developers would be to invest in yourselves. Don't slog for these western companies. Read more code less. There will be a time soon when we will start outsourcing our work once we hold the knowledge that drives this industry.

I am in the industry for 11 years now. India. A big chunk of it associated with numerous startups. In India, the story with startups is rather grim. Very pathetic. I would advise any investor, especially foreign investors to do a zillion times crosscheck and scenario verification before investing even a dime. Sorry if that hurts any feelings. Most are shams. Scandalous to say the least.

Communication gap is an old story .. this point could have been avoided . India is a very matured software industry and we never put people on phone , who we think can have communication gap . At least not in the case of big companies !!

I work for an IT outsourcing company of India, Narola Infotech. The website developers hired in our company are working for a number of years. www.narolainfotech.com/web/hire-web-developer/ So attrition is what is resolved here and since the head office is in Tier-2 city Surat. It becomes easier to get hold of people easily.

An increasing no of enterprises and startups consider India as a primary destination for software outsourcing. Outsourcing software development to India means lower costs, higher software quality, no communication barriers, and a huge talent pool. According to Statista, global spending on software is estimated to reach 738 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. Indian IT industry aims to touch USD 350 Billion in revenue by 2025 from the present USD 150+Billion. Also, India still leads in terms of software developer base and has the fastest growing concentration of software developers in the world. Reach out - www.binaryfolks.com

Here is the answer for all your questions. Indian developers are better that anyone else. You guys are hiring wrong people working in service organisations and knowing nothing about software engineering , coding. Hire people from product organisations in India. In India people who migrate to Europe and other countries with companies like- TCS, Infosys and all are shits so If you are hiring them then don't expect much from them , they are not considered as software engineer in India. Hire right people they will tell you yes and No on your bloody face. It's almost same as you do bad hiring in your own countries. Good and bad peoples are everywhere but it's your bad luck that you can hire bad quality only because top quality Indians work in good / Microsoft , medium quality work for their dreams and only low quality go to Europe and USA through service companies.
