A.C Diamonds your words are just as or probably more inspiring than her speech was. I hope that when you write from your heart you really know that you have a talent of expressing a language of the heart. No writer can ask for more than that. You should write more because it can reach people and could bring hope to people just by expressing your appreciation and perspective. And if you are a writer and if it’s not to much to ask I would like to read your work. Thank you. Very beautifully said / written. The way the gossip tabloid scrutinizing this incredible talented actress is so pitiful and truly sad to witness years after years. And you just made them look so bad. And it’s so refreshing when someone sees who she really is at heart. I try my best to seek only the good in people and the good and the blessings and lessons in all the trials and tribulations God trusting me with. And sometimes I feel so lonely believing, seeking that the word it’s an amazing place with an amazing human race. Well most of the human race. There are always exceptions in everything. Thank you so much for having the courage to write so beautifully what you really thought of her speech so I could get the chance to read it. KZbin and social media definitely needs a lots of words like yours for comments and food for thought. May you always have blessings and joy in your journey of happy destiny. God bless.

@miriamuSama10 жыл бұрын
Some of us respected her for a verry long, long time. Well, better late then never but I have been annoyed by people like you, who were hating on someone while not having a clue, for years and years. You just weren't interested enough in her before, and now that she gets recognition in the form of an oscar for her humanitarian work, suddenly you respect her. People like you used to call her a home wrecker, a junkie, a wacko. But tell me, what have you accomplished in life? And no, I am NOT talking about money.
@sonyagiancola845410 жыл бұрын
Miriam.Ben Dear Miriam I just want to say that I have never "hated on someone" in my life. I admired Angelina Jolie for many things including her move from infront of the camera to behind the camera in the movies she has directed, including her newest movie Unbroken. I read about how she had devoted the last 5 years of her life to bringing this movie to the screen and how she formed a bond and great friendship with the man about whom the movie is about. This caused me to listen to some of her speeches and hence I came across the above. So you see you are not right when you say that I was not interested in her before. I have watched Angelina's transition through life, but do not presume to know much of the real person. I want you to know that I have never called her a home wrecker, a junkie or a wacko. I don't judge people like that. Each of us is on our own journey and learning about ourselves and our place in this world along the way. What have I accomplished in life? .. Not great things like Angelina... I am just a working woman who has built a family and raised two sons, one of whom died 5 years ago at the age of 28.... I have managed to keep myself going with great difficulty and fight a battle each day to still see the beauty in this life... and I do. I consider that a great personal accomplishment. It is not something people can see. I sponsor a child in Ethiopia. I donate to charities and in my work, which is in medicine and Women's Health, I give my all in small ways, even just a smile, to make someone's day brighter. You see it is you who have judged me by using me to vent your prejudices. You don't know me Miriam and i forgive your harsh words. As for money, it is not a measure of my success. It is a means to an end for the every day person, a necessity... but on a much bigger stage it is the root of great suffering and what I call evil. I judge my success by the love, kindness and compassion I am able to live and give in my life. All the best to you Miriam.
@OlgaLevin10 жыл бұрын
sonya giancola It doesn't really matter if you "hated her" before and like her now, or whatever. One thing that I learned is that celebrities, those who are rational, mindful and the likes, know the power they have in raising any kind of awareness. We all know that she had quite a wild past. I think that for me, what I got tired of the most is hearing the same shit on a different day. I used to read tabloids when I was teen, not so much of course, but I used to read them. Now that I'm older, I know that I wouldn't want my life, it's good and bad parts plastered all over to the public for everyone to see. I now work at Barnes & Noble and have to deal with those entertainment mags nearly every single day. Believe me just about every single cover of those tabloids is UGLY in every sense of the word. Whether celebs are perfect or not, they are first and foremost HUMAN. I think that this is the key thing that people forget. It seems to be okay for the general public to mess up, get involved in drugs and alcohol and what not, but somehow people fail to see themselves when the shit hits the fan of their favorite celebrity. All of a sudden it's okay to bash a public figure just because they are a public figure and are supposed to know better and lead by example. Yet a lot of the people who talk like that don't see themselves as being responsible and "public" figures to the younger generation. That just baffles me. I personally enjoy Angelina Jolie's movies. I grew up watching a lot of the movies she was in, I enjoy her action packed films like Wanted, Tombraider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Maleficent which is my personal favorite. I think that above all what I love about Angelina is that she is someone who took responsibility and made a full 360 change in her life. It's the same reason I have nothing but the highest respect for Robert Downey Jr as well. And also the fact that she gives back and raises humanitarian awareness through the UN. I don't know of other celebs that do the same to be honest.
@TonyVega12310 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that you changed your mind about her. She has a colorful past and did a lot of crazy things when she was younger. I can't say I was any better. You learn and you grow. Except Angelina seems to have grown and matured a little more than the rest of us and those are the people we need to pay more attention to. The people who grow until they glow. That's Angelina Jolie.

this Woman!! this is why she's for me the most beautiful woman in the world, cos her beauty comes from within n to see ppl trying to damage her name saying she's fake this n that is just so unfair, but I guess that's how the world works, evil will always gonna try to come for the good and destroy it, when she was just another selfish celebrity the world was fine with it, but since she connected with her spirit n saw the power she had and the good she could do to the ppl and started to do it, that's when haters and just plain bad ppl came to talk trash bout her... but don't let them fool u, good does exist and the best proof of it is the evil that cant sit aside doing nothing when a good did is done, it will always appear to try and diminish value and take credibility away from the good ones... I love u Angelina and ur my hero.

I will always love Angelina Jolie. As a person coming from a refugee family, I'd appreciate whole-heartly that she was able to adopt children from parts of the world of war. Immigrants as her own. Yes, she may not the best "celebrity," as no one is because of how shape-shifting the media can be. But she is definitely a good person, giving her privilege to others in need, that of her children who were immigrants and products of war, famine and much more. You can't say that about most celebrities today.

How can anyone look at this and think this woman is a bad person somehow? If every human being was like her then our planet would be so much better.

I appreciated Angelina's honesty when she said she didn't know then...But now she knows. Angelina continues to grow and that is what this life is all about. We all make mistakes, do foolish things; that doesn't mean that we are not capable of eventually understanding our place in this big world of ours. Wonderful, touching speech Angelina has shared with us all. Her heart has a ring of gold.

Maddox looks like he's about to cry--I bet he's like me. Anytime I see someone start to cry (even in movies) I start tearing up. This is so sweet. She looks so nervous. And I've never heard her refer to Brad so affectionately before. I'm glad she got this. Not many 20somethings in Hollywood would've done the work that she did.

I was wrong - I have never really been a fan of Angelina Jolie - I openly admit I was wrong! After listening to this speech, one of the most impactful that I have ever heard, I have come full circle and am now ... ... Well words escape me. Why wasn't I a fan? - because of all of the negative press she received - because I was shallow and allowed myself to be swayed by the hype and I didn't look deeper! Today in just a few minutes I changed my mind, did a huge turn around and have learnt a lesson that I thought I already knew - make my own decisions about people, never judge and so much more! I am humbled to have been pointed in the direction of these inspirational words - at 3.00 minutes the impact starts at 3.30 it hits harder and at 4.00 more still. In Gratitude ~ Jaki :)

It takes a big person to admit they have been wrong. So be proud of yourself. I have been a fan of Angie's for a long time and have read many accounts of how and why she made up her mind to never, ever complain again while so many other had such horrific lives. We all try to do that, but it is a great human being who can actually live it.

I have always loved and supported angelina jolie throughout the years because I've understood how loving she is and how her intentions are good. Reading these comments and seeing that others are finally realizing this too is so nice, she has amazingly broken away from her past. At 1:05 brad has tears in his eyes! What a lovely family.

Angelina makes me cry. Not because there are so many refugee children who could be where she is, but because I see a true celebrity cause. There are so many other celebrity charity causes that appear to have good intentions but are totally misguided. But Angie was fortunate enough to have a mother who instilled high and lofty worldly values in her from the cradle.
