I'm Afro latino and I've experienced racism from all the colors of the rainbow. White, black, latino, asian. You just gotta keep your head up and don't even doubt yourself. Because it's really easy to think that there's something wrong with you or that you're not enough. YOU ARE ENOUGH 👑🌠👼🎆

As a black gay male, it’s very depressing I often second guess myself when I want to talk to someone whom I find attractive but seeing the No Blacks or No Fems (which I’m both) puts me in this unwanted space that I can’t seem to escape from. It’s very depressing

I lost all sympathy for "The Gay plight" when they started slagging off B.L.M. All that matters is white gay men. The word "Homosexual" is synonymous with white gays. Noone else exists.

A little advise, guys with "NO (specific race)" on their profiles probably have issues and you might not want to get to know them and find out. I met guys like that in person and their responses to me calling them out on it were, "You're so much cuter person", "I don't normally DO black guys, but I'd DO you", or my favorite "You must be MIXED with something, because you're hot". I would rather not be associated with those people and all of the time, they weren't as attractive as I thought they were.

The difference is simple. "Preference" is preferring to eat your hot dog with mustard, ketchup or neither. "Racist" is disliking the hot dog without having ever tried it. I should know. There was once a time when I hated hot dogs.

First of all, they call sexual orientation an "orientation" for a reason. Lookup the definition of the word. Secondly, by the way, I've had sex with a woman. That's how I indeed know I'm gay. Racist preference is just ignorant. Grow up and accept it.
@negativeanthony
@negativeanthony 7 жыл бұрын
Silver Eyed King No, I'm not because, as I said, I've tried women before and couldn't relate to them sexually, but I have sexually related to men of all races--just as I haven't sexually related to all white men. If you couldn't have sex with a white or whichever colored man whom weighed 300 pounds, would you consider it a preference?
@negativeanthony

How can you say I'm sexist if you say you're not racist? Please consult your dictionary. It'll make you a better thinker?
@negativeanthony
@negativeanthony 7 жыл бұрын
I can read perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, I've told you that I've had sex with a woman and I'm gay. I haven't, however, had sex with a three-hundred pound man, white or otherwise. So, what do race and gender have to do with looks? Going by your logic.
@negativeanthony
@negativeanthony 7 жыл бұрын
So, if a black man had a white man's nose, a chick had a dick or visa versa, that would him or her more fuckable? What if the man was in black face, or red face? How old are you? Something tells me you have very little sexual experience. I'm 33 and have had sex with over 100 men. It's shameful when your "preferences" destroy the solidarity of a community that's trying to break free from oppression.

Ok guys... preference is defined as a greater liking of one alternative over the other. Not the FULL exclusion of the other alternatives. So you may like vanilla ice cream over chocolate but it doesn't mean you will never eat chocolate. Excluding people base off of race is NOT rational nor logical. In all instances of decision you would never consider it. Take for example the three statements below: 1. I will not hire Michael because he is black. 2. I will not work with Michael because he is black 3. I will not be friends with Michael because he is black. We can agree that in the above all statements are racist as they single out race as the deciding factor. So let's change the verb. I will not "date" Michael because he is black? So now in this situation it becomes a "preference" and no longer racist even though race was the only deciding factor. How is that logical? I know lots of gays want to call it a "preference" because it makes them look not racist but come on honey....if you are going to exhibit racist behaviors then own up to it.

Dating someone requires pushing people into a personable situation which is much different than simply being friends or working with someone. You're not entitled to anyone because of your skin color. You can't shame people for not dating you because of your skin color. Yea it sucks for you but you're not entitled to spend a date with someone who because of your skin color
@NutnRoll
@NutnRoll 5 жыл бұрын
You made an equivocation fallacy, equating two things that are completely different. The sentence "I won't hire Michael because he is black" and "I won't date Michael because he is black" have completely different underlying meanings. The first is racist because skin color has nothing to do with skills required to do the job and it's clear violation of a basic right based something irrelevant to abilities to do the job, so skin color shouldn't be a factor in the decision-making process to hire someone for a job. The second isn't racist because it's about dating. And what is a deciding factor we use to help us decide who to date? It's attraction. So if one is not attracted a particular physical appearance, then one is completely justified to say that one will not date a person with that appearance. It's justified to say that because appearance is one of the causes of attraction, and attraction is a decing factor in dating; unlike the hiring case where color is irrelevant to skills, color is relevant to attraction in the dating case. Of course there are other things that cause attraction (personality, voice, beliefs etc.), and different people give weight to each one differently (some value personality more than appearance, for example). A racist person wants to oppress people and think that other races don't deserve what his race deserves. A guy's valuing appearances more than others doesn't logicaly lead to him wanting to oppress people or think that others are somehow below him. To say that they are racist is just an overreaction and misleading, and you can damage a person's reputation, a punishment he doesn't deserve.

WOW! Excellent posting guys! I have only started using dating apps since Feb 2017 and I have to say I was STUNNED to see some of the ads being posted! Guys actually indicating about the type of ethnicities they do NOT want to have reply and or ONLY want to have reply to there profile ad. For me even though I may have my own preferences and believe me it's a RAINBOW OF MEN :-) I would NEVER put it on my ad what ethnic guy may or may not respond! Its disgusting it's WELL I could go off on what I think! The important part to take from your posting is that we ALL need to so RESPECT to one another :-)

I’m from England and of south Asian origin but British born . I’m 48 now and rarely frequent any gay venues I have a history of been subjected to racial abuse and threats and violence off gay white people . The level of discrimination here has never changed since I first came out at 18 and went to gay venues . I can truly say it hasn’t changed because on the rare times I’ve attended gay venues after pride events I have been objectionably treated as an ethnic minority and refused entry into bars and clubs with door staff saying that it’s a gay only venue ... so it seems apparently I’m not gay yet they’re allowing in hoards of drunk hetero white people who just come to be queer for the day because it’s fashionable here in England for them to look cool .

I think it important to address not only color but shades as well. You see it mainly in the Black and Latino community where there is discrimination on someone die the a darker shade. For example, I have a latina friend who swears by her dead relatives that hes Caucasian when in fact she isnt. He swears she not a part of the minority because she has the right of passage.

I'm not a gay male (I'm a bi female) but I still wanted to share my opinion on this matter, anyway. Sure people have preferences but those preferences are always influenced by something. I think white people would get less offended if they didn't feel they were being called bad/racist for their exclusive preferences. I don't think they're bad. However, I do think that because we live in a white supremacist/racist society, it is highly likely that their exclusive preferences for their own is influenced by white supremacist/racist conditioning along with other groups who have exclusive preferences for white people, male or female. I think that white guilt and shame, is actually important to have because it is the only way to get to the next stage which is anger and indignation against a system based on racial casts which is clearly unjust and unfair. Also, I think that one indicator that one's romantic preferences are influenced by racial bias against blackness, is when it's EXCLUSIVE. Sure, I have preferences when it comes to this false construct known as "race" but they are _not_ EXCLUSIVE. Also, it's important to look at the beliefs associated with your preferences. Do your preferences come from some kind of place of feeling that blacks, asians and others are inferior to whites? Have you been attracted to people from other "races" and weren't turned off by the shade of their skin but simply didn't want to date them because you perceived them as inferior to anything not white? All of these ideas, are things to consider. In order to dismantle white supremacist/racist hierarchies in our society, we need to first examine the ways in which it manifests and then go from there.
@seandeep2152

"We live in a white supremacist/racist society" No we don't. The statistics don't bear that out at all. You are just perpetuating lunatic-liberal lies. Do specific instances of racism occur? Of course. But all of the reputable studies on this subject refute your crazy leftist talking point about racism in America.

Honestly, preference is not ingrained nor is it fixed. I grew up to only love white men, despite being a minority myself. I grew up in a post-colonial state where western, often white-majority countries are praised and treated like gods. It's not difficult to see how I got the affinity for white men. When I finally made it to North America, I was surprised by the intense racism/preference that people have and started to question my own preference in who I date/have sex with. A lot of it stems from my own racism to other people and internalized racism to my own kind. I must say now, while I still feel sometimes that I treat mediocre white men better than others, that I am now more open to races other than white when it comes to dating/sex. I'm still trying to unlearn many harmful things that I have been indoctrinating but my god, you missed a lot of stuff when you limit yourself to just one characteristic! You gotta try all the different cuisines in the world!

I notice the very good-looking and fit White men in the gay community are almost always (like 99.99% of the time) going after men who look just like them. It's just a fact of life. Deal with it. I am a minority (Hispanic) and I don't go around crying racism when I am rejected by someone of a different race (which I have been). Look for someone in your league, stop trying to climb the social ladder. Read a book. Go to school. Accept the things you can't change. Life is not a fairy tale.

Racists will be racists. It is sad to see that some people's value are measured by their appearances. All of you men are beautiful, and there's always someone out there chasing your tail. Just because a particular someone doesn't want to bed you, doesn't mean you're any less or bad than the people they do bed. I think racism is a really big issue if the person won't even affiliate themselves to be with someone at all based off color or features however!

I love this video; totally subscribed! Excellent video quality, discussion and all handsome young dudes!! Before I met my boyfriend [who happens to be white], I haven't encountered any direct racism on gay dating apps/sites. I was open to dating ALL races but whenever I did see a profile stating "no blacks" it *usually* but not always was another black person saying that. I've suspected that SOME men of other races didn't want to date me b/c of my race (since we had common interests and a high match percentage *BUT I SOMETIMES STILL GOT NO RESPONSE*) but I didn't really have any sound proof of that; and whenever a black person calls out racism then we're supposedly "playing the race card to get free stuff" so I keep my mouth shut. However, there is a well-documented issue of mainly asians & blacks being outcasted in the gay dating world (though many desire blacks for hookups but not for actual dating). Just keep putting yourself out there and you will find the man of your dreams like I did! NEVER GIVE UP OR SETTLE FOR LESS!! YOU BOYS DESERVE NOTHING BUT THE BEST!!

Why should American gays be any different than the general American population? This, definitely, includes racial attitudes. We, Americans, are the sum total of our familial, community, religious, social experiences. Americans, in large numbers, live in isolation of other ethnic groups, so it is not surprising that in the LGBTQ community in the U. S. that there would be racism between gay men and lesbians, among themselves and with each other. It is a part of not just non-hetero life; it is a part of mainstream American life. The view of the LGBTQ Americans as being part of a community came about with the Gay Liberation Front of the '70's, needing LGBTQ people to come out and show American society and politicians that there were large numbers of such people and that they would use their numbers to change laws and attitudes towards homosexuality. That didn't mean that individual LGBTQs were aware of or worked on questioning their ethnic/racial views of each other. For years, racism in the LGBTQ community in America was taboo to talk about but I am glad that this is coming out, as it were :-). From such questioning, I've definitely broadened my tastes for men to include men of various ethnicities that, 10 years ago, I wouldn't have given a second look, by examining my preferences and ethnic/racial attitudes. I'm not a saint but a work in progress in being an enlightened man who lives in harmony with his surroundings, including people. This is why, as Briyan said, the line between a person's preferences and holding racist beliefs that determine attraction among LGBTQs is a fine one. Not only is it a fine one, it is blurred. So many of our preferences, especially when it refers to who are our ffriends and who we find sexually attractive are determined by our childhood experiences and messages we would get from the outside world, family members, especially. So while people's preferences are unique and, per se, there's nothing wrong with enjoying one thing over another, one must be aware of where those preferences came from, especially when it comes to sexual attraction, friendship, dating, and any other interpersonal interaction. The more one examines oneself, the more self-actualized and broader one lives. Thank you, Guys, for this great video.

Boys, thank you for writing such a lovely, thoughtful comment! I am 57 and I've observed and analyzed a lot of behavior, starting and ending with my own. There are a great many -isms out there in America, besides racism. Ageism, sexism, body shape-ism, and, one that I've encountered over and over, anti-intellectualism (finding intelligence, wisdom, and thoughtful conversation and analysis uninteresting, unimportant, unnecessary, boring) are prevalent and make connecting with other LGBTQ people difficult in finding friends and potential partners. While there are many sports and smaller amounts of theatergoer LGBTQ groups in Los Angeles, I have yet to find a conversational/philosophical/political analysis LGBTQ group in Los Angeles. It is demoralizing and, for me, personally, it is isolating and alienating because the LGBTQ appears to care more for the physical than the "whole package", including philosophical and other intellectual pursuits. I would like for those other -isms to be addressed in our community as well. Keep those videos coming!

I have no problems with dating any type of race. My preferences are on chemistry or if you are my type which usually come to common interests. For example, I am heavily into art, music, or motorcycles. So whether you are Black, Asian, Latino, White, or Etc. it doesn't matter. I am just going to selective on whether you prefer doing a night at a formal club or are we going to a bike run like Sturgis. 😀 In other words, if a guy is Black and more of a biker bear type, I am going to prefer him over a white guy who wants to go to a formal club. 😁

Sorry...can't agree. It is not racist to experience no attraction to certain types. I am turned off by certain things. I have to agree it is cold to state "No …." But as cold as it is, it is honest. I am a white guy, a bear. I love big old bears, and am not into twinks, the really skinny, the really effeminate. I do find it offputting that no one takes up for 'fats'. Please make a video about discrimination against fat folks. I think one could take from this video that I have to have sex with people i'm not attracted to in the least, because it is politically correct. It is not going to happen. Just like some cut guy is not going to fetishize a chub. I think you could also do a video about black guys that do not find other blacks attractive, they want waspy white guys. It blows my mind that they don't find their own kind sexually attractive. Sounds like another really great idea for discussion, don't you think?

The guy with the stuff on his face to me represents the worst aspect of the gay community, his all about the bitching and competing. I like white Eastern European men and I have many black and Asian friends, but I am not sexualy attracted to them. So does that make me a racist???? Everything is in relationship to context.

Hey most people aren't attracted to there friends, if they were that would make it a crush . What we are saying if the only thing stopping your from dating someone who has all the qualities of "your idea" of a perfect man is their race. Then you might be racist.

There is no type or trait that belongs exclusively to a race. You'll be wrong to think that all Chinese look the same. People from the North look less typical Chinese than people from the South, especially right up close to the border. The same is true with Blacks; Ethiopians do not have heavy African features as most people would think. White guy are not always white with light colour eyes. If all types and traits can be found in all races, why would anyone has the need to say not this race and not that race? All we want is someone nice (who love us) to love. Unless you are going for sex alone, well in that case why not have everyone and anyone. It is much more seedy that way, even more so in a dark room.

social justice and identity politics has infested the gay community. If having a racial preference is racist, then having a sexual preference towards a gender, is therefore also sexist. And also, while we're at it, since I refuse to have sex with a 6 year old, I guess that means I discriminate by age too, and therefore, that's wrong and should be fixed/corrected? I also have this odd preference towards only having an attraction to humans, I guess that makes me speciest too? People like what they like. People aren't taught to be interested in any particular race, no more than they are taught to like one gender over another. Its so ironic, that those who think racism is in the gay dating circles, think that they should be shamed or "reprogrammed" into changing their racial preferences, are talking just like those Ex-Gay clinics preach, that there's something wrong with you and that you must change to conform to THEIR ideas on what is and isn't attractive, and they go about it by shaming and attempts at humiliating those who refuse to accept their point of view.

Skeptical Chris Skeptical Chris actually no you being physically attracted to a sex is different. You can not control what sex you like. You are looking at someone because someone is white or black is internalized racism. When you say "I will never date someone who is black or Asian" is bullshit. There are people out there who are more attracted to someone HOWEVER if you never give someone a chance due to the color of their skin it's not a preference it's racism. You need to educate yourself on systemic racism. It's so funny because you are probably someone who never gets discriminated against because you are probably a light skinned person. Ignorance is bliss just like it is today despite shit still being in people's face

GAY COMMUNITY - listen up! Putting your dating preferences on a dating app IS NOT RACISM. Dating by its very nature is discriminatory. You should probably get used to this asap because it is how the real world works. Also may remind you that you are likely on a dating app in order to save time. So why shouldn't people preference what they are looking for in order to save time? It's a distinctly modern phenomenon. Get used to it.

@twjclarke1

No. Well they wouldn't be 'perfect' then would they? I am not a racist. I do have a preference for certain races of people. These two statements are not racist nor contradictory. The word racism since the civil rights movement has been amended to fit people's agenda. The people who took place in the Million Man March the culminating event of the Civil Rights Movement? - They experienced racism. Those people who were tormented and executed by actual racist cops would be turning in their grave to see the word racism used in this context. It's because of people's over use of the words sexist, racist, homophobic that these words have increasingly less meaning. I come from a time and place where these words meant something! And I am only 30 fucking years old! Something has changed in the last ten years to promote our frivolity of throwing these important terms around and it has to begin to change.

I don't think preferences automatically equals racism, so I don't understand why its not politically correct to be up front in honest on a dating profile! With that said, I don't think it's appropriate to use racial slurs to identify your likes and dislikes, however I don't see anything wrong with being up front and honest about what it is your looking for, and what your not interested in.

I think it's normal for people to have biases; especially, when it comes to choices for romantic partner. Nobody can or should force people to date the people they don't fancy. However, you should question why you find some people attractive and others not, especially when the source of attraction isn't based on a person's characters but a person's race. If you look at what is considered beautiful for both male and female, the standard of beauty is people with Caucasian physical features. For proof, see people on TV, movies, magazines, billboards, etc., you'll see mostly white people, and life imitates arts. There is a long tradition in media to discriminate against people of color--I haven't seen an Asian Captain America yet, and I'm sill waiting. Although I'm very happy to see a black male lead for the latest Star Wars. As a result, people who consume mass media bought into the racism perpetuated by the media, believing the standard of beauty spoon fed by the media. It is not a simple case of colored drinking fountain or bathroom anymore. This is 2017; racism is a lot more subtle. It may seem like "preference", but it is in fact racism when you exclude a whole race from your consideration. That said, you will and should date who you want to date. However, I would challenge you to intentionally look for beauty in people of the races you may have judged as unattractive. You don't need to date or even talk to them. You just have to look for beauty in them. Chances are you will find some people of the race attractive--it is impossible to find all people of the race attractive, even for the race of your preference. You should make up your own preference and don't allow other people, especially the media, to influence you in such an important choice of your life like people you date or marry because I don't believe the media industry have your interests at heart. Besides, when you see more beauty in the world, you are the one who benefits from seeing all the beauty.

0:41 ...What you just said is not racism.. It's a persons preference and you shouldn't be confusing other gays with that type of thing. What you are saying is just what the left wants you to say and believe. My Asian friend doesnt want to meet South Asian guys from India, does that make him racist because thats not his preference? OMG! Also what is the difference about saying in your profile THE EXACT SAME TEXT "not interested in such and such type of race" than saying it in a text to someone? It's the fucking same thing!!! and how is that hate! How do you know if that person has already had experiences with other races/cultures and it's now not their preference. I think what your saying is some form of control, telling other gay guys/girls what they should write in their profile... which is another leftist way of thinking.

Enough of the political correct nonsense. Have we now come to a point where you are going to tell people what to put or what not to put on their personal pages? I'm of Indian origin and I've never had white or any other people tell me they didn't want to date me because of my ethnicity. On the contrary, I have always been treated just like any other person. I feel pretty previliged and get treated with a lot of respect- both online and in real life situations, like in bars; I do not feel marginalized. And if someone did say that they weren't interested in people of Indian origin or any other origin, I'd smile and accept that instead of playing victim because I feel comfortbale with myself. If anything, I've often conveyed my lack of interest toward white men who have shown interest. You guys need to look a deep look at how you handle the challenges of life and look at yourselves instead of censoring other people's thoughts and texts. This is getting pathetic. For your own sake, grow up. You'll earn your respect in doing that.

I can only wish him well but wish that he would actually mentally do some research to find out how other people are treated. It's not pathetic to say that the gay community is inept to actually convey inclusiveness. In many ways the gay community is their worst enemy and nobody can match up to that

I did a video about this and this topic is the most annoying topic because, how can we demonize someone for having a preference of what turns them on? Are people suppose to hook up with someone they are not attracted to? Come on, lol not to devalue anyone's feelings but I think it's not a racism issue it's just an insecurity issue within that person...I think it's an issue of self worth and security not racism...if you're offended by someone posting a preference then that's an issue of your insecurity not racism!
