that peach slushy is similar to peach blackberry bourbon smash/slushy i make 2oz four roses single barrel 1oz honey syrup (3:1) 1oz fresh orange juice with microplaned lime peel 2 mint leaves 1/2 ripe peach 4 or 5 blackberries for smash: maserate peach, blackberries, mint leaves with orange juice and syrup..let sit 1 minute..mix bourbon and strain over ice and top off with club soda..garnish with mint leaf, 2 or 3 blackberries, and peach slice for slushy: add peach, blackberries, mint, honey syrup, bourbon, and ice to mixer..mix till smooth..garnish same as smash perfect on these hot and muggy midwest summer days

I watched this and was really excited to try them out. Went to Walmart and bought a new Magic Bullet. Cheaped out on the $40 one. Wish I hadn't though, because the darn thing couldn't even grind one single ice cube. The unit overheated and now it's basically trash 😂 Thankfully I have a full sized Ninja kitchen blender, so that saved the day!

Nice return to your roots! Gonna try tweaking a couple just slightly as the lady isn't a bourbon fan per se so.... The Peach slushy, going to use 1 oz Crown Royal Peach and 1 oz Maker's Mark 101 to add a little bit more 'peach' and dial back the proof slightly for her. Same thing on the blackberry using Crown Royal Blackberry. She will drink both Crowns on ice so these should be total winners in this heat wave. Great video especially dialing down the injury potential for Trenton

If you want to use the frozen fruit you can go with a little less ice and add some water to get back to the original dilution but and avoiding the excess thickness.

Been a big fan for quite awhile. First time commenting though. Love this video! Great job on the cocktails, Kurt! I made all 3 of them and enjoyed each one! The Blackberry Mint happened to be my favorite. For whatever it is worth, just thought I would share how to improve the cocktail (of course for my preference). After making it the first time (and loving it!), I noticed that I ended up getting tons of blackberry seeds with each sip, which I found to be a bit annoying having to spit them out each time. So, in order to fix that situation, I tried first blending the blackberries with the whiskey. Then, strained the liquid into a cup catching all of the seeds and discarding them. Using just the blackberry juice with the bourbon, I added in the lime juice, simple syrup, mint leaves, blended it all together with the ice, added the garnishes and VOILA! Phenomenal and a super impressive cocktail! Thanks again for sharing your 3 great ideas for slushie cocktails! Cheers!

I used to make limoncello every summer so I had a LOT of lemons after removing the zest and I'd squeeze them out and make lemonade all summer. We would take OF100, lemonade, and muddle mint into it and pour over ice. About the same thing as your first cocktail...sans the berries. Great stuff.

What a treat guys! I made the strawberry slushie for the family this evening and it was a tremendous hit. I agree with the statement about proof. All I had at hand that I wanted to mix with was a 90 proof bourbon and while delicious, more proof would have been nice. In the coming days we will be trying all of the versions. I had to come back and update my comment. Last night I made the Gold Rush slushie, and OMG, it was a hit with everyone. Even my wife, who is not a bourbon fan was asking for one. Only tweak I made was to make them just a touch sweeter, and they were a perfect way to us the peaches we just recently purchased from The Peach Truck. From a fellow hoosier, thank you again for an awesome channel.

A few ideas to consider. When using frozen fruit, thaw the fruit first or if you leave it frozen decrease the amount of ice used. To prevent the separation of frozen drinks (the melted layer at the bottom) add 1/4 - 1 teaspoon of xanthan gum prior to blending. To prevent the unblended ice, use crushed ice. Cheers guys 🍹

Great video. I have done several blended drinks on Ask Allen About Low Carb Cocktails, using that same Nutrabullet mixer. I use Splenda based simple syrup and I have found a zero sugar Cinnamon Honey syrup from Skinny Mixes that is a great substitute for honey syrup (going for the Low Carb since I am Diabetic). I'll have to try more Whiskey blended drinks. That is a great idea for hot summer days. Maybe a Blended Mint Julep... That sounds like it would be good!

It's always so much fun watching you guys. Then I have to go make an Old Fashioned, a cocktail or or something tasty even if I wasn't craving one before your video. This is just a personal preference but guests notice the difference, too. I let the blender run 4-5 times longer than you do. It reduces the little bits of ice to a creamy texture more like a milkshake. Give it a try!
