Here's an in-depth video of installation from someone else. If you have any questions, I'll still try to answer them as quickly as possible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYi5dnSipbh9i8U

The guys in this other video made a mistake in threading the canvas through the extended end bar. They used the groove in the flat side of the bar, the same side where the sliding metal pieces go. They corrected it off camera (as a couple of commenters noted) so that near the end of the video the large canvas is threaded through the thinner end and the little frilly front piece is threaded through the flat end as it should be. It looks as if you did not detect that problem as the brief view of your extended arm shows it installed upside down.

Nice man! I may look into one of those 👊🏻

Thanks! My Facebook is deactivated, so I can't get on there or messenger, but I do have Instagram. This was basically drilling the brackets to the wall, then the awning (once built) just slides in, so it can easily come down in any weather, just two bolts.

Nice job! I had the awning since 2014 and the shade itself needs replacement , do you have any idea where I can purchase the replacement shade itself?

I would like to know the total height of the bracket and roll of cover. We only have 6 inches between top of window trim and underside of soffit. Need to know this measurement before we order and then have to return it. A reply would be appreciated. Winnipeg, Canada.
@DeliberateNRandom2 жыл бұрын
I'll try to check tomorrow. It's at my mom's house and we're out listening to a small ranch jam session. (Dirk Fest, I think I labeled it previously.) I'd say about 6", but I'll check to be sure. If you'd remind me in a couple days if I don't remember, I'll be sure to get it. Thanks for checking out the video!

I just had mine installed and when it is open , it is crooked. One arm appears to not open as far as the other. Also when it is retracted one arm is lower than the other. Can this be fixed? Also want to angle it lower when it is open. How do we do that?
@DeliberateNRandom2 жыл бұрын
This is more generic to these, but you should be able to adjust the pitch like this one. These are the steps to take, but the adjustments seem a bit different on these. I haven't had to do it in mine, yet. Adjusting it will be the same to fix both issues you've addressed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6nPaKihrq9pqaM

I just bought 2 of these. Just wondering how it holds after 2 years of installation. Do you keep it open out all the time?

Haven't used it a ton being Montana, but great when she does! No issues so far. Not faded or damaged at all.

@@DeliberateNRandom Thanks! Same here in Calgary Canada, it will not see a lot of use, may be 2-3 times in the summer per year.

About how much space is needed between facia and top of sliding door?
@DeliberateNRandom2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking there wasn't enough room, but it's fine. I was hoping I could tilt it down, but there's still plenty of room. I'm thinking I had about 6-8 inches of clearance, but no problems. I'm going there today, so I can try to check, but I was initially very concerned.

Mom said she measured it at 5.5-5.75", and said 6" would be good! Let me know if you have any questions!

Do you know what that plastic tube (part "E") that you can see sticking down from the front bar at 2:01 is supposed to do, or why it's there? The paper instructions are terrible! 😆
@DeliberateNRandom2 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the hand crank? I don't have the manual to look at the part numbers anymore.

@@DeliberateNRandom Hi! No there are 2 short plastic tubes (about 2" or so) that seem to go into the bottom of the front bar, but serve no purpose?

@@cinemachinery The only thing I can think of is it's so the arms don't bend the wrong way, or maybe a place you can pull on it without grabbing a pinch point. They both seem like a stretch.

Where did you find your installation manual? Can't find mine.
@DeliberateNRandom2 жыл бұрын
It was in the box. I'll try to find it, maybe I can host it, if I can't find a copy online. I don't think I would have trashed it. It wasn't the best for assembly.

Can manual awning be converted to motorized?
@DeliberateNRandom Жыл бұрын
I don't know about the manufacturer doing it, but I'm sure there's some way to do something. I told mom she could use a drill with an eye hook.
@denissezavala-rosales4297 Жыл бұрын
how long did it take you to install?
@DeliberateNRandom Жыл бұрын
Not that long. Once I found the studs to bolt to, it was simple. There should also be a big header panel over the door for safety, so you should have like 4-6 inches over the door. Not something I thought about. It took more time to assemble the thing.

Is it normal , when you roll it back , is creasing little ? Thanks
@DeliberateNRandom2 жыл бұрын
As long as it's not folding over, I'd say you're good. So it just depends on the severity.
