Outworld Four-Ever! Reiko & Goro Combos Part 4

Goro has undergone a massive change with the latest update to Mortal Kombat 1! As of 07.24.2024 you can now cancel Goro's Raise the Roof move into either the Dead Weight throw or Punchwalk attack. Goro was already a very good Kameo to being with, but this makes him an exceptionally good Kameo for Reiko now since you can combo off of Reiko's command grab and Ground & Pound move. The Punchwalk cancel requires the entire Kameo meter but it's well worth it. You can now score combos upwards of 775 damage with Reiko! Enjoy!

Had they not nerfed the Punch Walk after the initial update that allowed you to cancel into it from a Raise the Roof attack I would agree. But as it stands you'll still get more damage out of Tremor. I also think Tremor has better utility overall being able to provide armor, counter projectiles, and throw projectiles of his own. That said, now that they have nerfed the Punch Walk, I think the better way to get damage out of Goro is with his Raise the Roof attack when used twice in a combo. 1:28 how do you make 310 damage with the command grab and not 210 ?

You'll only be able to get 310 when using meter and punishing an up block. Otherwise, you'll just get the 210 for the meter burn command grab. Thanks for the comment!

Who am I doing wrong? I am unable to move when I do Gro punch walk your performing combos while goro punching I saw another video where Goro lands behind the person then starts punching towards them. How would you do that?

You should be able to move during Goro's Punchwalk so long as you are cancelling the Raise the Roof into the Punch Walk. The Punch Walk on it's own will have you standing idol. Regarding the side that Goro ends up on, that just comes down to timing Reiko's command grab as late as you can. I prefer that Goro walk towards me so that I don't have to chase him and I can get one more hit than I would otherwise if he was Punchwalking away from me. Wow, i didn't even consider working Goro into a combo after a normal throw. It can definitely be done though, Liu Kang's throw for instance should have no problem taking advantage of Goro's new changes. If I come up with something significant using Reiko I'll post another video, thanks for the comment!

When calling out Goro with his Raise the Roof in this combo, you'll want to input Down R1 (mid range) and then hit Forward R1 to cancel into the Punchwalk. Let me know if that helps, thanks for the comment!

I believe they dropped a stealth patch following the major patch release on 7.24.2024 that adjusted the scaling on his damage. These combos still work but are probably not hitting the same numbers that I'm getting. Thanks for the comment!

I just ran through a few of these for reference, Goro's Punchwalk was heavily scaled in the last update. The combo at 0:46 in my video was hitting 459.95/16 hits but now is only hitting 380.74/16 hits.

@@fainemartin5336 Yeah, maybe that damage was too good to be true 😆Honestly, I think Goro is still plenty viable as a Kameo for Reiko now despite the damage nerf. He offers tons of utility with his Raise the Roof, and can now combo off of Reiko's command grab and ground & pound (with his throw and Punch Walk). Tremor is still my go to for Reiko but Goro is up there.

Yeah I think they shadow patched it shortly after the official patch. Someone else in the comments mentioned that they were unable to hit the same damage as in one of my combos.

Wait until the last minute to call out Goro for the Punchwalk, that way it will turn the opponent around and walk back toward you. Otherwise, you end up having to chase them and you lose an additional hit.
