Same here. I was in it in June of last year. It was extremely exciting to be a part of his stick handling camp, and I still remember what he taught us and how freaking difficult it was for most of us.

See comments bashing the tricks as "let's see that as a game"... Tricks are fun to watch on KZbin and its advertising. Had this guy coach me with Ppaha in Colorado Springs as a peewee and bantam and he's legit. The practices where in no way trick shot camps, it was all about skating and applicable moves. Skinner knows what he's talking about.

It helps with coordination. Any you do with the stick and the puck will help your overall handling skills no matter how unaplicable it might seem. Also, doing new, unconventional stuff like this will help shock your brain into forming new synapsis when it comes to handling skills. The more and better established synapsis you have, the better your overall skill and learning process will be.

not sure if you notice but the other guys using a stick a foot shorter than ovechkins which is suited to let you handle the puck better than a longer stick which helps you create more torque for harder shooting.

@Disgle Naah this is to give you better stick handling.. and stickhandling you can´t have enough of.. This is just ways to challange what ever skill you already have.. Since you see Ovechkin have problems with some of them, i think must players can have some benefit from practicing these drills.. he made a whole dvd with on and off ice drills to get better at handling the stick..! Its pretty good IMO..!
