Oven door not closing properly (Long double hinge type)

Thanks for this video. I didn’t need to do all that extra work but had to find out how to put the same sort of door back on. I struggled for 30 min. Found your video and had it on in 20 seconds. Didn’t realise you had to clip the bottom on to the top. Much appreciated.

Cheers! This is the exact same hinge design as my Fisher & Paykel oven and followed your steps, however the way the half-circle closes up means it'll probably wear out again very quickly. So, what I did was remove the spring completely (in a vice - careful!) and add a pre-loading washer - that worked a treat! Also the hinge assembly was riveted onto the door, so that needed to be drilled out, and I replaced with screws. Don't forget to re-grease everything either ;)

Thank you, this video instructed me how to remove the door, once I did that I found that one of the screws holding the mounts to the oven frame was missing, so the hinge couldn't push against it to tip up, replaced the missing screw and popped the door back on, fixed !

Thanks for the time and upload. Fixed my door on the double oven! Taught me also how to remove and replace the door which was too complicated for my brain! Sometimes we need to be shown! Thanks again. p.s. bought my double oven for $25.00. Perhaps the door not closing was why it was cheap!

If you look at the 12second mark, you can see the frame of the oven where the hinge guide top and bottom screws are has been bent out. I would say heavy weight has been put on the door bending the frame, adding to the worn hinges. You can hammer the top screw area back in but after the metal has been stretched it usually will go back after a few months. I usually taken the conical washer off the screw and place it between the guide and the frame, meaning the guide is spaced back at the top and sits more vertical. It’s a little fiddly but does a good job.

"Don't put a heavy weight on oven doors" and "don't lean on fridge doors" should be taught to pre-teens, in school! It's so easy for parents to overlook this--if they ever learned themselves.

Awesome! Thank you so much 😊 I took my oven door off to clean it and had know idea how to get it back on. It’s the exact same hinges ! So THANK YOU! Also I have a fisher and paykel fridge that I want to deep clean it but not sure how. It’s the same one as the fridge that kept beeping

What do you mean "deep clean" . You can pull the back panel off as shown in the video and clean inside. Also the freezer back panel can come off to defrost and clean

what do you do when one of the clips is damaged? I have an ilve with wire clips and one got mashed somehow. I'm pondering wiring the parts together, but any better suggestion?

Yes any sort of clip or wire to hold the 2 hinges together while taking the door out should work. Good luck with it.

I took mine off but now it's not staying shut no spring action . Does the top part have to be on tracks or latched on to something in there to stay?

Mmmm not sure. The top part of the hinge with the hook goes in as far as it can, the most important part is getting the little groove back in on the bottom mount. The only thing I can think of is maybe your springs weren't clicked in properly and have popped out inside the door.

On many ovens, you have to set the clock first before the oven will turn on. Maybe that helps? Pada banyak oven, Anda harus menyetel jam terlebih dahulu sebelum oven menyala. Mungkin itu membantu?
