To the people complaining about the length of the video. Yeah, he didn’t deliver and edit the way a big KZbinr does…..but he figured out the hack and made a video about it to help you out. Even the long video he helped you fix your problem in less time than you would spend figuring it out on your own. Adjust the playback speed, fix your door, and then say Thank You.

5:11-Remove the catch at the top front where vertical hinge is supposed to slide in 5:57-Put in some tape or something to add a little space so that the catch is effectively lower and can catch the vertical hinge better 8:46-Screw it back in place. Enjoy door that closes properly. My fridge did not have anywhere to adjust door height. I checked the manual and under door hinge for adjustment screws but found nothing. This simple fix did the trick. Thanks for making the video.

Ingenious solution! Wish there were more videos on how to repair French door fridges. My right French door gasget has broken off top & bottom and has tears already on the inside edge from the door flap on the left door that was demonstrated in this great video. Problem is to replace the gasget or liner on the right door has been priced locally at a parts store at $354.00.you can imagine the cost for 2 top door liners and if someone is not confident to replace them, themselves, add appliance repair cost to this bill and I may be like king at $700.00-$800.00 cdn dollars. I’ve been looking for French door repair videos, as opposed to replace videos.

I had the same issue. The proper way to fix this is to adjust the door. The lower hinge has a nut. That nut will raise and lower the door. I dont believe its a defect, its just a step that sometimes needs to be done.

That’s a great solution ! , I think another way to fix it would be to use a washer on each side , remover the plastic piece from fridge , and then put the washers in between the top of the plastic piece and the fridge , ( put the screws through the bottom of the plastic piece, through the washers and into the fridge ) that should lower the plastic pice 1/16th of an inch and do the trick

This worked! I put in two round washers instead of the tape, but worked just as well

The left door height is adjustable. There is a nut on the bottom where the door sits. You can just turn the nut to raise the door.

@@43stlrs On my LG, both door hinges have an adjustable nut on the bottom hinge which can be turned with a wrench to adjust door alignment.

We have a brand new Frigidaire French door refrigerator VERY similar to his. SAME PROBLEM! Hacks may work, HOWEVER he should look at his left door hinge base because our hinge base is NOT 90 degrees- as it SHOULD be. It was MANUFACTURED bent at MORE, like 100 degrees- which causes the LEFT door to sag beyond a “reasonable” adjustment attempt by using the supplied hex tool. On phone now with Frigidaire ( in the Philippines.) for a correctly made door base.

I have this problem on a Frigidaire fridge that's only about 6 months old. I 'fixed' it using two 1/4 inch white nylon spacers and longer (1 1/2 inch) screws that lowered the bracket from the top of the inside of the fridge. I can add longer spacers if the problem gets worse, but I hope it doesn't.

I have the same problem on my LG. I noticed the left door is hanging lower than the left. On further evaluation the bottom nut on the left has a different bushing than the right. Turns out the door height is adjustable

If you adjust the height of the left door, then it will be uneven with the right door

We put a broken pen cap into the little hole at the top of the mullion to give the mullion enough height to reach the hinge and close.

Frigidaire, I hope you are noticing this video….it has 14 THOUSAND views in only 6 months. You need to fix this defect in future devices and send repair parts to owners of defective products.
