Hey nutty! I live in Minnesota and I've worked for the street department for 14 years. I'm appalled by your conditions up there! We start getting into snowfall in the whole town goes into chaos if we don't start plowing immediately LOL. Overtime is what it is. Holidays, middle of the night it don't matter we're working. I can't believe you have to drive through that crap. As I speak our cities out sanding and salting the streets in town here cuz we have 33° in ice storm coming. Stay safe bud

The AK Leg had some imbecile from Maine come to Juneau, ka NOT Alaska... He sold those folks from down south, aka, nowhere near REAL Alaska on this crap they spray on the roads DOWN THERE. It doesn't freaking work here. Everyone says the roads here in and around Fairbanks, "are the WORST" they've seen in, "OVER 20 years." Message to MAINE and the AK LEG, keep you SPRAY to yourself and STAY THE F AWAY FROM OUR WHITE ROADS!!!

I know this is an old post but I agree , I am in Nebraska and as much as we complain about the roads not being cleared quick enough ,, this is worse. A foot of snow is not horrible if the city is doing their job.

AK-1 gets pretty nasty too - they plow the northern part, but not always the southern part (south of Anchorage). I was fortunate enough to drive down AK-1 Seward Hwy during a snow storm - pretty cool experience - you slam the brake and it literally does nothing at all. The only thing I was glad about is that it was middle of the night and so I was alone on the road practicing my snow drift skills.

I hate the cold and snow. My anxiety would be through the roof driving in that. I was looking for vids on the road conditions bc I know I would end up in a ditch in -10 weather on my way to work. I have an interview for a job in Anchorage on Friday and this has helped me make a decision I've been debating for 2 weeks. 👍
