I remember some years up there when I lived in Anchorage. I couldn’t even get to the polar Cinemas when I worked there and I was just a half a block away because everybody was not able to get through the heavy snow and I couldn’t get a cab now the polar cinemas don’t exist anymore.

Yep it doesn't snow like that anymore up there I grew up in Anchorage 1998-2012 2015-2016, and 2020. 98'-2010 were the better years of snow.

The snow can go, you sure did get hit with quite a bit of it down there this week, reminds me of the last few winters up here in fairbanks , good thing it melts fast there. after it snows up here it usually drops to -30f stay safe and look out for others who might need help in these conditions

We lost power at the end of Boundary Ave. I don't need a generator. I have an expedition suit, headlamps, and a minus 20 sleeping bag. I have dry fuel (hexamine) that will ignite no matter how cold. I never intentionally became a prepper, I do backpack all year round so I don't really fear having no power. Its actually kind of fun. You need to leave the sink dripping when the power stops though.

I would be in heaven with all that snow. I love the snow, sadly we don't see much snow down here in the Tennessee Valley (Knoxville area). On the rare occasion we do get "snow" it's at best a light dusting but, the schools are cancelled non the less.

It would be if we had even half of the normal snow plowing/hauling budget that we have had for decades now. We don't though, so the now 3+ ft of snow not being plowed is costing lives.
