A Secret Wars #8 effing REPRINT from like 10 years ago sold for over $120 in an online auction earlier today. I was like, why are u fools bidding on that? It was at least 10 bidders. They could buy that book outright online right now for $12. AND there was a 1st print #2 up to $1.78 and a #4 with 0 bids right above it with something like 20 mins until close. Crazy AF!

I think GAG is wrongly tying the 1st appearance of Gambit to the Deadpool film. X-Men 266 was only five years after the trial of Magneto. Its an old book that was popular back then, although the character was (of course) a brief point of contention by 'long time' readers.

These movies are able to be "successful" because they're much more of a global event now. Comic collectors and fans aren't the main ones seeing these movies anymore. Marvel Studios isn't much better than Sony.
