Great video. Liked the mesh of a discussion mixed with creating a tier list. As for How the Duck, there might be several reasons behind his popularity. There is a low issue count, speculation of him coming to the MCU, and nostalgia. People that are fans of his movie are most likely in their 40s now and might be hit with the nostalgia bug and have some disposable income to use to collect his entire series since the issue count is small.

i think the appeal of howard the duck is that it very uniquely combines bronze age adventure with cartoonish humor. i'm surprised the simpsons is so low. their early issues were some of my all-time faves, especially the radioactive man and bartman spinoffs. for a while, simpsons was kinda mid, but in their later days, they did experiment with different art styles and random character one-shots that were pretty fun. the one thing from bongo i never see is futurama. it must've had pretty low print runs. also, i'm not a spongebob guy, but the art in that book always looked really cool. and i love archie, although i think far and away the best era for archie comics is late 80s/early 90s. the art was never better, the writing was a bit more mature, and they had a lot of really fun limited series at that time

Same; it feels like DC's answer to UXM, with great writing and great art. I think Ghost Rider is amazing cause for the age its usually still affordable plus the run collectors for rider are die hards and will usually pick up extras cause the covers and story are awesome. Speaking about my self if I see it I buy it cause for what ever reason does not turn up as often as other stuff. Plus now I buy and sell collections see plenty of different stuff but hardly any 1st run of rider shows up. Same for Silver Surfer first 18 issues are always harder to come by but they are way more pricier than Ghost Rider. My PC is Surfer, Rider, Horror, and GGA type stuff. Every thing else I sell when I buy a collection. Your list is pretty spot on from my seller perspective down in Texas.

Interesting. I started collecting again about 2 years ago. In that time, I have acquired the full v1 runs of Alpha Flight, Excalibur, The Thing (no idea why), X-Force, X-Factor, The New Mutants, and 90s X-Men. I already had big chunks of some of those, including the expensive New Mutants books. I had Ghost Rider v1 from 20-81, and I have added everything except 1 and 2. I had Ghost Rider v2 up to 41, and I now have through 81. The others are a bitch to find, even online. I had Uncanny X-Men 144-318, and now I have from 107 all the way through v5. I'm only 4 issues away from having Daredevil v1 from 179-380. The issues after the 330s aren't easy to find. I'm just now starting to fill gaps in ASM and The Avengers. Luckily, I already had the McFarlane run of ASM. Oh, and I also picked up the entire v1 run of Power-Man and Iron Fist. I will buy any Legion of Super-Heroes or Marvel Comics Presents that I find in a dollar bin. Same goes for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Alien(s), Predator, or Terminator, but at any price. As you can imagine, trying to catch up on 30 years of comic collecting has been expensive, but my wall books look better than most of my local comic shops. I display them on Mosslanda picture ledges from Ikea, in Ultra-Pro comic display cases. No graded comics in my collection yet. I'm not sure what I'll do once I feel like I am caught up on the titles I listed above. Maybe I'll go after the various "Marvel" titles... Team-Up, Two-in-One, Premiere, Saga, etc. I have even toyed with the idea of going after Captain America since it sounds like there's not much competition for buying those.

In the 1980's and 90's X men was super cheap. The movies came out and took a while but prices went up. Young boys watched the movies got older and now have fond memories and now have money as they are in their 30's, 40's now. Same will happen with Avengers. Kids watching the Avengers movies will want the old comics in 10 years from now. Re live that movie experience.

I've got the 1980 King Size Annual of X-Men called "Nightcrawlers Inferno" with Doctor Strange, on the nightstand by my bed. X-men and Spidey were my heavy buys back in the early 80's. I wish I had a way to know what kind of values they hold.

Im with everyone else that buys Uncanny X-Men. Grade is always a big factor for me though unless its a nice key that can be pressed. $5 for 1st Mr Sinister was a nice grab. Had some water damage so I pressed it and it now presents nicely minus some stains on the back.

Great video! Do you find variants sell well?

I have a bunch of Howard comics that i didn’t even consider selling even though i don’t want them because i didn’t think anyone else would want them either. I wonder what else i was wrong about

TMNT and Transformers have made a massive come back in new comics. This will filter through to older ones eventually so watch those for under priced bargains.

Howard the Duck? that's a shocker. I liked him when i was a kid, but no one else that i knew did. I have a good friend who is a huge HTD fan but that's about it.

Out of curiosity! Do you ever get Lady Death comics. I feel like they fly by whenever in stock

If you can find them (at all), a comic that checks all the same humor boxes as Howard is ACG’s “Herbie, the Fat Fury.” I remember them fondly, although I have 0 issues (the ones I did have were coverless store rejects, so completely uncollectible).

Surprised Detective Comics doesn’t do well. I think it’s 10x better than the Batman comics. IDK maybe I’m weird lol. Thanks for the detective work lol this list you put together is excellent

I love Alpha Flight! I have the full run + doubles and triples. What! on West Coast Avengers !!! I have the full run as well. Same for Shung Chi! If you send to Australia I’ll have to relieve of your Captain America as I am completing this run. Aussie Dan
