I checked it out on steam. The first negative review crying about nazi dogwhistles made me laugh so hard. It's a shame the developer responded woth something more dignified then "get bent". That said, it looks funny, I'll add it to my lost.

@@SuperballsSupervidsOnYT i am the developer and I remember this comment. I'm not sure what he expected to find in ww2 fiction game but everyone is entitled to his opinion. I mixed everything up to make this game as non-political as possible. That said, the Quest reviews are far more positive than Steam. That said, I firmly believe that I made a very solid story shooter that despite its flaws in graphics fidelity has a solid chance against the big paid vr titles. Just because it's about 6-8h long and full of cacti cuteness. The successor is already in development.

@@CactusVRstudios hey good to get a reply. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but that review is just shy if slanderous. That said, you had a really good reception on steam outside of that. I grew up with WW2 documentaries, and Wolfenstein 3D, I somehow was inundated with Nazi imagery without becoming a Nazi myself, but that guy was using a nasty political trick, which is attributing motive. The second someone says "dog-whistle" they lose all credibility. I did read your response though and it was a pretty tactful, so good on you for that. I'm glad you read my comment though, and hopefully know that most people don't care about that kind of thing, and you shouldn't bend over backwards to cater to that type of crowd, as it will never be good enough and they will push you one more step, and one more step and one more after that. I haven't tried the game yet, but will when I have some game time.

Tavern tales is a cool one. It's a vertual Tavern to play d&d in. The dm gets a pretty robust map builder that has tons of miniatures and he has the ability to go invisible to plan and adjust maps on the fly. I'd be spending a lot more time with this if any of my nerdy IRL friends had a headset.

@SafePatato I just heard about this kickstarter for something call dungeon full dive. It's the exact same concept, but it looks a fair bit more polished. The map builder doesn't seem as robust. It looks like you can't terraform the land and all the self-made looks like they had pretty generic building pieces. It seems like they're relying more on elaborate prebuilt Maps. The graphics are way better, it'll probably be a PC exclusive, but it does look pretty cartoony. It also lets you go first person. It's kind of cool but I'm not sure how much I'd use it.

So where you're correct that its free on meta headsets, obviously if someone points out that its not free on steam the correct response from you might be to make and pin a comment informing people of such. might be a better use of your time instead of individually replying to people.

I would rather see the same MEGA helpful 5-10 lists remade as VR grows than watch him do what other VR creators do and make "top 10 games with cool plants in vr" I can watch Matteo and know im getting just the good stuff no filler and like I said almost always the list has changed as VR grows!

Here a few I have played that you missed. Super Raft Boat VR - looks stupid but it’s actually a pretty fun and challenging rougelike. Easily worth the download. A Shopping Trip to Elkan Tor - hidden object game with a god like perspective. Short but worthwhile, kind of gave me hidden folks vibes.

Can’t help but notice you didn’t mention Elixir. Free hand tracking game. 15-30 minute long experience. Great fun first time around for an experienced VR gamer, great for introducing VR to friends and family.

Battle Talent is unbelievably cool - it's free with free in game mod support. It has parkour, swinging, flying mods, lightsabers, physics based combat, and it's a roguelike so every level is unique. Awesome game - 10/10

If you haven’t, you really should give Gorilla Tag a fair chance. What makes it so fun isn’t necessarily the game of tag; it’s becoming proficient and mastering some skills. Seeing yourself improve is truly the great joy it provides. On top of that, it’s just endless shenanigans. For us older dudes, it can be filled with toxic little kids, but also all the more fun to poke fun back at them (in an appropriate way of course) and when you randomly matchup with another person of similar age, instant easy conversation and friend. Highly recommend - it’s not a forever game like Echo Arena or Pavlov, but it can provide some great memories.

hi, Closed alpha tester for chillout here! chillout is kinda like a mix between VRC and Neos with better security, you can do pretty much anything you want with avatars and toys to play with. it has face tracking, haptic vest, and multi tracker support and has had this since alpha. it has a standard content creation system unlike neos using Unity like VRC. the game is verry player friendly, the devs encourage modding the game and testing the limits of what can be done. all this while protecting everything you create with HTML encoding to prevent ripping and keep the players safe.

7:22 for the roomscale section, I would recommend "dunegon maker vr" its a very good game that I like to play with my brothers where we make each other dunegons in real life and watch each other do weird things that we don't understand until we look at the casting screen 😂

I don't think I have played many free games. I liked Tea for God and traVRsal for the fun concept, and Gun Raiders is definitely underrated. But the one I probably spent most time in would be Google Earth VR. Flying through the Colloseum or across the Himalayas just hits very different, especially to show off VR to inexperienced people.

Ah yeah looks like Ancient Dungeon is most certainly not free anymore haha. Will put it on the wishlist for now, looks like fun but I should focus on what's on my plate first VR-wise anyways. Battle Talent is definitely a really fun time. Haven't delved into modding yet, but this is looking to be an awesome game in the genre. Tons of value in the demo alone.

The reason why people use chillout VR is that creatives have more control over what they can put into an avatar or a world, it has a better security than VRChat, and the dev team is a lot more responsive that Vrchat's dev team (I'm not gonna factor mods into this as it is a per person view). Performance wise Chillout just obliterates Vrchat (uncapped chillout is less performance intensive than capped VRChat), and since the community is smaller it's mostly constituted of Nice people

Note: neos has basically been replaced by resonite. Chilloutvr is a vrc clone without updates at this point. No alternatives have quest support fot whatever reason, but resonite is absolutely my favorite.

if you own Half Life 2, there's a free VR mod that completely reworks the game for VR, and uses some of Half Life: Alyx controls and mechanics. It's a very new experience in VR, and HF2 is generally cheap and steam always seems to have the game on sale!

In the experiences list, similar to baobab's short stories animations, but even higher quality imo is the NightMara series on quest. Only the first two episodes are out right now, about 15min each. It's like a 3D animated comic book and has some really cool perspective shots with great voice acting.
