I think things like this is what makes the Mii Costume presentations some of my favorites; they use Smash assets to convey things from their home game, so fans of the series can see the effort they put into them.

My theory is that the Smash team and Sakurai himself seem to know exactly which characters are going to receive high praise and which ones aren't, and the ones that aren't (such as Terry or Byleth), get crazy Mii costume reveals like Sans or Cuphead to balance out and add at least SOME hype.

Personally I'm glad we got Byleth overwith. They were such an obvious inclusion, I was surprised Nintendo actually made him do it after four straight third party picks. Honestly as I've seen elsewhere, it's better that they're in the first pack, cause if we had to wait an unknown amount of time for the first character of the second and it was Byleth, the reaction would be so much worse. And yeah, I get that half the time FE inclusions are advertising, and to that I say so? The entire series is doing that, so what if FE actually gets to time its releases for that? Speaking of this costume now, YEAH THIS IS PRETTY FUCKING SICK LOOKING OH MY GOD, I NEED TO GO AND PLAY MORE OF CUPHEAD, JESUS.

I’m honestly kinda upset that they had to put Cuphead with Byleth, it took away from a character people were already angry about in the first place. Everyone cared more about Cuphead then the actual fighter just like Terry and Sans. They should have put Cuphead or Sans with the fighters pass Vol 2 instead of the breath of the wild costume. So many people would instantly buy the second fighters pass.
