You see. Sans is NOT _just_ a costume. To start off, he’s the first costume to be fully made, not just some hat and clothes, but the whole character (I know that technically Black Knight was first, but still, he was only an armor. Sans was a complete character model that even changed a tiny bit Mii Gunner’s proportions). He’s also the first costume to have a song along with him. Oh, and did I mention that this is the third indie character in Smash, and the first one to be “playable”? What I mean, is that this is the costume Sakurai has put the most effort out of all the costumes since Sm4sh. Maybe that means that we’ll get more Undertale stuff in the future?

I only realize now that the Sans showcase is literally just a reference to Frisk, Flowey and (what's assumed to be) Chara. A villager with a stick, a villager with a sword, and a yellow pirhana plant. Holy shit, Nintendo and Toby Fox.

I still wholeheartedly believe that Sans was an omen for the Undertale Protag (Frisk) getting in as DLC. Sans being a character would have been amazing, but it just doesn’t make sense given the lore of the series, unless it’s some weird gimmick. Though a character like Frisk makes sense, with the three paths to play the game, it could lead to an interesting gimmick where the play style could change if you chose Genocide, Neutral, or Pacifist throughout the fight.

If you want to know what my reaction was like, imagine 4:36, but I laugh so ridiculously hard that I end up choking on my own spit. Not only was this hilarious when it happened at first, but the whole story of how this ended up happening is just downright wholesome. Moral of the story: Do great things and don't give up, and you'll go places. Thanks so much to Sakurai and Toby for making this happen!

Mii costumes nor assist trophies or spirits deconfirm characters. These are fan made rules. How many said Cloud could never be in Smash? How many said Joker couldn't either? Popular characters like Ashley, Waluigi, Rex, Geno and etc. All still have a chance next year~
