Fast, delicious, and cheap
Isn't it OK that it's so inexpensive?
These were my honest impressions when I had the opportunity to photograph the jumbo bun "Aokiya.
Downtown Arakawa-ku, where the scent of the Showa period (1926-1989) still lingers. Aokiya is a store selling old-fashioned cobbler's bread sandwiches located a short distance from Nikko Kaido avenue, a major transportation artery since the Edo period.
It is easy to say, "Use the best ingredients and take the time to prepare them," but it is difficult to put it into practice. Good ingredients are expensive to purchase, and the more time and effort you put into it, the higher your labor costs will be.
However, despite the fact that Aokiya carefully selects the ingredients and brands of each season, and puts an unbelievable amount of time and effort into preparing their products, their "croquette buns" are still a hit with customers.
Their most popular item, croquette bread, is priced at a whopping 270 yen and is twice the size and quantity of those found in convenience stores.
The ham and pork cutlet bun is priced at 250 yen.
As the name suggests, it is a "jumbo bun.
The company has been in business for 64 years.
The company has been in business for 64 years and has taught me the importance of honest business. It is amazing to see a store that has been rooted and loved by the locals for so many years.
It was a great experience for me.
Thank you to everyone involved!
